I want to like your video a million times over. I am a female and I know nothing about cars. Took my car to a shop (wasn't bmw dealer) but was the one available at the time for an oil change. They couldn't reset it. I tried another mechanic and he couldn't do it either. After watching over 100 videos I found yours and it really worked. I still can't believe it. Thank you so much.

THANK YOU It worked, if the message indicate a failure for brake reset, you should take off the handbrake then it will magically work.

How often are you changing the oil on your x3? I believe bmw recommends 10-15 k. I have a 2020 x3 as well .

Many oil stores don’t do this for you because every car is different unless the people who charge it know, it’s always good to know to do it yourself right after oil change

I did not encounter that issue. That is strange. Be sure not to start the vehicle and also make sure to continue holding the bc button down until engine oil reset possible shows on the dash. Then, release it and press and hold down the bc button again until you see engine oil reset? Then, release the bc button and press it once to reset it.

Timing is key that's not to say you did it wrong, but try holding the bc button down first then pressing the start stop button 3 times. Continue holding the bc button as described and see if that works for you.

@@muland1824 that could be possible, but I didn't have the seat belt on when I was showing how to reset the oil life. So it might be because of the check brake warning.

How do I reset brake fluid service warning. I had the brake fluid replaced but, they couldn’t reset the brake fluid warning in the 2019 330xi. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

For the 2020 330i xDrive your seatbelt has to be on to do the oil reset, you failed to mention this...

The vehicle in the video did not require the seatbelt to be on as it was a 330i, not a 330i xdrive.

My dash shows maybe 17-1800 miles left for service and that’s for the rear brake pads, will this method work as well to reset it? Because I am changing the pads myself so just want to know if I can reset the mileage on rear brake pads as I a dealer did it?

I ended up trying it again the next day and it worked. I think the sensors needed to recalibrate or something.

I’m having the same issue. Parking brake is off but it still says unsuccessful. I’ll try again in the morning. Wouldn’t work on my x7. Maybe I damaged the sensor when I reinstalled

How to reset micro filter

On the handful of BMW vehicles that I reset the service intervals on, which were all 2020 models, a reset micro filter warning was not displayed. From what I read for 2020 models you may only need to reset the service interval, I'm not completely sure though.
