2020 BMW F900R Review, Walkaround and First Ride [EXTREME DETAIL]

This week, I review the 2020 BMW F900R - vast upgrade from the previous F800 models, this new F900R is likely to get the MT09 and the Duke 890R a big scare. With its "best in the business" 6.5 inch class leading LCD screen and loads of shiny new tech, this bike is a huge contender amongst the middle weight naked bike categories.

BMW nailed it on every detail (except maybe price lol) with these new F900R and F900XR. Especially with the tech package, awesome features and screen! I also love their motor choice.

💯 but as standard, it still has more tech than your MT09 and 890 Duke variants... the 2-3K extra packages will give you so much bling that your head will spin with all the bells & whistles.

@@PetroHead The part specifically when you went over the bumpy road and used your voice as a gauge, you could tell there was ZERO vibration coming through. Yes there were bumps moving the bike around but the compression and damping seemed flawless combined with the higher weight of the bike. Planted and plush is how I would describe it. Of course, it's hard for any performance vehicle to be smooth over horrible pavement like that so it's impressive.

If i'm not wrong, there's an option to activate a "blinking tachometer" when it reaches its rev limit. This set up is present on the F850GS

The only thing I don't like about roadsters while cruising is wind blast.. restrictions over speed limit automatically by wind blast .. the best feature in roadsters.. Thanks for sharing. :)

Most TFT's are LCD, actually. But, not all LCDs are TFT. Thin Film Transistorized LCD displays have been used for years. Your PC monitor, if it is an LCD, is most likely one.

I'm about 5'7 so for me, it was comfortable. My knee was on the tank and gripping it was not an issue. The position is definitely sportier than the F900 XR.

PetroHead the best?! I’d say a street triple rs is pretty much best or a duke 890r but not the f900. The tank is small , it’s quite heavy , engine is chinese. There are quite a bit of extras to add what is pretty cool on the bmw , but then it gets pretty expensive. Have u ridden all the competitors ? Many tests said the bike lacks some emotion... but I guess I’ll find out soon myself

I thought you’re comparing it with your panigale, but comparing it with other the same category, it’s not that heavyweight. We can’t compare it with 2500 c of triumph.

@@felero Panigale is a race bike.. this is a naked bike. Its heavy in the category of naked's. I now have a 2020 Street Triple RS.. wet weight is about 410lbs without mods.. when I am done it will be about 395lbs wet. No reason for the F900R to be as heavy as it is (475lbs)

The F900 XR is heavy to get off the side stand. Wow 😳 maybe the angle is less than my Honda but man was it heavy !!

kind of disappointed about the power. 1st gear tops around 50mph and 2nd at 60mph. top speed about 130mph. Its bascially like a middle weight naked like the fz 07 or sv650

Couple of things..., -It's "Hockenheim Silver" not Hockenheim Red. -There is zero chrome on the bike -A Panigale 959 doesn't go 180mph (despite what the gauge says). -Rev matching on decel from high speed/high rpms proves nothing-all motors can do that-and is very dangerous to the engine: float the valves = engine damage. -What twisties? Those were barely curves. I am trying to follow your review but you are sensationalizing a bit. I found the seat (stock seat, not the option) to be quite hard. What about you?
