Fantastic in depth review and overview. I bought my M340i xdrive in January of this year and love the car. Can’t wait for the 2021 M3 to drop as I think it is going to be a sick car.

A great review for sure. I watched every minute of it. You don’t inspire much confidence in the vehicle though and you kind of made me question whether I made the right choice in putting down and non-recoverable deposit and ordering one. I’m coming from a C450 Mercedes. Did you switch out the grill yourself? Where did you get it?

Two quotes from the video. “There are some things that could be better but overall the M430i xDrive is one bad mother….” Considering I have not spent much time with its direct competitors, on its own “I can unequivocally say, the M340i is an amazing car.” Not sure how much clearer I can be that it’s a good car. Every brand has its pluses and minuses. BMW makes incredible cars. Their design is a bit questionable these days but the design is art and art is opinion. So if you like it, who cares what others think. No car is perfect and I try to point out the things that stand out as potential negatives without being unnecessarily bitter or critical. If you did a bit of research, took one for a test drive before ordering it, and you liked it... then you made the right choice! This wasn't our personal car and the owner actually purchased it with the aftermarket grille already fitted. So I am not sure of the brand or where the grille was purchased from. However, if you google search 'm340i front grille', you’re sure to find one that is similar. Maybe find a good message board! I hope this helps to answer your comment. Really appreciate you watching and leaving this message! This car is really good. If you don’t like it, you will be hard-pressed to find anything better!

I agree on the ride being very stiff on rough roads. Recently test drove one very stiff ride. I have a 328i and it rides so much better. Still like the M340i and may buy one but the stiff ride has my concern.

Still struggling about the color since I like some contrast. Black perfectly suits the car but then you need to stick to cerium grey to get the contrast. Other colors are not that great....

Overall, yeah. With the previous 2 generations, there was some room to debate if the 3 was the leader in all categories like earlier generations. Some areas can be subjective though. Thanks for the comment!

It’s surprising that you didn’t like the Harman Kardon system, I’ve been in a base 330i and the audio in that was great, so I could only imagine it’d be better. Did you adjust the audio settings at all?

Yeah. It's been my experience in a number of BMWs. Played around with adjustments and still didn't give me the sound I expected. It's not bad just didn't meet my expectations. To be fair, my expectations for sound are pretty high. Also, I believe the 30i and 40i have the same system.

You do get the “halos” from the laser lights - they just aren’t standard.

Cinnamon Rage compared to BMW’s of old, I wouldn’t really call those Halos. More like hockey sticks. Although they are closer to halos than the standard LEDs.

La Boite Aux Rythmes Montpellier I believe it’s Mineral Grey Metallic. Haven’t been able to confirm that yet. I’m not sure if Oxide Grey is available in the US. If someone knows better, let me know. Thanks for watching!

C'mon,...the HK audio system is "Flat",...really! You do know the system has an EQ you can adjust and other settings! But to say it's Flat! No way! If I were to get one,...the first thing I would look to do would be to replace the Subaru grill! Edit: Software to "bring the Power Down!" Don't you mean Up! ..."within 4-Mississippi's",...I like that! LOL!

Yeah. It’s been our experience with a number of BMWs and the HK audio system. Others seem to really like them. Then with some systems we like, others don’t like them. I guess it comes down to preference. Did try adjusting the EQ and never found anything that was to our liking. Again, not a bad system by any stretch. Just not the best we’ve heard. Subaru frontend. Haha! The first M340i’s to be released apparently make more power than the current models due to BMW doing an “update” that decreased power. Lol. Thanks! It's a performance car, why would you want the suspension to be "plush" or "luxurious?" Just curious lol

Shaunt lol no problem, we don’t want it plush or luxurious. But it’s a BMW at the end of the day and folks in the market for this car might want a more luxurious or plush feeling suspension. So it was worth mentioning. Also part of the problem with brands putting their performance badges on everything in their lineup, such as the M and AMG badges, is that it makes people think it’s a true performance car, when it really isn’t, at least not compared to an M3 or M4. Although the engines in these cars have M levels of performance, the suspension is usually the one place where a distinct line can be drawn between these M trim models and true M cars. But yeah, never said we wanted it to be plush, just mentioned that it wasn’t exactly what you would call plush and BMW offers an adaptive suspension that may help give a better balance of stiff and comfortable. Hope this helps explain what we were getting at there. Thanks for the comment and view!

Mine's a week old. Positives: BMW makes good deals to give big discounts., Car is very fast.,Handling and steering are very good., interior is well done., iDrive is the best I've used, transmission is fast and seamless, good size trunk. Negatives: ride is awful, even in comfort mode. run flat tires are noisy. nrf better?, lane change assist is annoying..
