Had a chance to be in one of these and the Q5 as well (both powered by 2.0 diesel here in the Philippines). The Q5's backseat is far more comfortable and is a little quieter, but for handling and driving, this can't be beat.

My current drive is exactly this car, and yesterday, I ordered my next car, the X3 xDrive 30e Plug-in Hybrid. You mentioned the lumbar support being a necessary option which I completely agree with, especially if you have back problems. I had to order my new car with the M-Sports seats because the normal seats aren't available with the passenger lumbar support at the moment, the supplier to BMW has apparently gone bankrupt. I'll be getting the face-lifted version sometime in September, problem is, nobody here knows what it'll look like, not even BMW 🤔Great report 👏

As a M40i owner who opted for the spare wheel, you should know this raised the boot floor by a couple of inches, making the whole boot less useful.

Great video but that is a 2018 model not a 2020. You can see at 3:12 the older style infotainment display :/ I just bought a 2020 X3 and it has a heads up display and a different screen.

Rebecca, have you already or haven’t you already reviewed the 30d + M40d models. That’s the only 2 vehicles I am looking at the present moment. I will be changing my car Sept 22, so I will be looking for a few test drives b4 then. My local BMW dealership has advised me to speak to them around March / April 22. I have informed them, that I will be requiring a chance to do a Night Drive as well to check out the ICON ADAPTIVE Headlights and the new Laser lights on the X3s. ANY FEEDBACK IS WELCOME 👍👍 Thanks

I'm curious, and this only a small point but my 2019 BMW X3 has the model insignia along the lower edge of the tailgate - have they now moved back up to the original position ? or is this actually a 2018 model ?

I love X3s however I find the latest shape profile too reminiscent of the original X1 “shoe” shape , just a personal preference but I’d rather have the very last facelift of the Mk2 an imperious as well as sporty drive .

Why does depreciation matter? Almost all will be sold on contract plans... (86% in 2016) Any why do you say it will depreciate more than the Audi? A 2015 model of either car is around the same figure.

Rebecca did not mentioned about the X3 rear bench seat length ( short of tight support) compare to that of XC60 and Q5 . Many buyers knows X3 is shorter even Rebecca did not disclose. X3 cockpit design is either you like it or hate it , nothing to shout about. it would be a more valuable review if X3 is mentioned against XC60 , Q5 and GLC on the Pros and Cons which would be more interesting and informative.

I can tell you the BMW X3 is really user friendly once you are familiar with the controls. I saw comments like yours before we purchased but I absolutely like the mix of tactile controls (knobs that you turn or press) and the touch screen. I have absolutely no complaints after 6 months of ownership - my own personal spaceship. All I would ask for is more control over the Bluetooth connections - so many times the system connects to the device in my briefcase in the back versus the iPhone near the dashboard. Frustrating. If only there was a picklist so that I could choose and not the vehicle.

2:35 audi q5 has more grip? Interesting, with way more weight on the front axle which puts more load on the front tires and even narrower standard tires, it has more grip? Maybe because of the taller tire profile and normal tires instead of runflats or because it uses more esc control

Foud it. Q5 seems to have a front multilink suspension so a modified double wishbone suspension which improves grip significantly. That explains having more grip although it has more weight on the front axle. The x4 has a crappy cheap McPherson. The Alfa Romeo stelvio remains the Sportier SUV with all three performance elements: suspension, weight distribution and traction.

Not really an SUV person, though I am a long-time BMW fan and this, just like the recent X2, this looks OK to me. With our ever crumbling roads in the UK, I am starting to see the sense of SUV ownership. BMW seem to be making a step change in their interiors. Details like the coloured stitching really make a difference. Exterior design is moving on a bit too. Looks as big as the X5 used to be though. Perhaps that's just an illusion with dinky Rebecca standing next to it, which means at least I know how tall it is! At the risk of sounding patronising, I agree with others here and think your more relaxed style of presenting is great
