2020 Cadillac CT5-V Review and POV Drive by Prime Autotainment.
Although this new CT5-V isn't quite like the V's of old with roaring V8s...this all-new 2020 Cadillac CT5V is still a fun and capable sport sedan. Besides..there's a new top end model to take the stage called Blackwing.

I think this is a fantastic car. Really liking the Cadillac design as of late. My only complaint would be the the rather dated and "GM" style gauge cluster. Other wise this is a very cool car! Great review Nolan.

@@pontiacGXPfan Analog gauges are still standard on 2022 models. I like the redesigned combination digital/analog gauges in the new Cadillac products. They are super easy to read, neatly designed, clear and look great. Very sporty. I feel the same about the analog gauges in the Audi and their virtual cockpit. You can’t go wrong with any of their gauge clusters now. Just compare this gauge cluster to the one in the base model Cadillac CTS! Or the new Acura TLX which look cheap compared to these.

I love my CT5 V and fully loaded not complaining. I know it’s not the 2016 V but it’s nice everyday driver. I wasn’t a Cadillac fan boy till I got this car. And to by anything else at a higher price might as well get the Escalade in my opinion.

Hey man I am really glad you did this review. I am really beginning to like Cadillacs these days. They are very appealing looks wise & powertrains. I'm kinda disappointed that they're goin the German route by offering the V version as an upgraded sport model instead of the fire breathing beast its always been known as. But I'm really digging the CT5. And you did a very good job on this review! Thanks again.

Cadillac will launch the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing in the Summer of 2021 as 2022 Model, the CT4-V and CT5-V will get the same 6.2L Supercharged V8 found in the Camaro which produces 650 Horsepower 650 LB-FT. The top speed for the CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing is 200mph.

That doesn’t even make sense. Why are you “disappointed” that Cadillac realized not everyone wants 650 horsepower at the rear wheels on tap and horrible fuel economy in a daily driver? This ain’t even nothing new. The CTS-V had a sport version called the CTS-V Sport which featured “V” performance badging and logos just like the CT5-V. “...going the German route...”?? Cadillac _been_ doing this.

As you said, this car is being somewhat unfairly treated because of the V badging. Yes, it was weird for Cadillac to break with the tradition of that name, but people can't seem to look past that including some of the other reviewers you alluded to. Meanwhile, these same reviewers are absolutely losing their minds over the Kia Stinger so I was surprised when I didn't like it nearly as much as the CT5-V in my test drives.

@99-Zulu
@99-Zulu 3 жыл бұрын
Never understood that, they essentially knew that the CT6 was going out of production by the time these started hitting the road. Probably even before that, they should have went with class leading tq and hp rating for mid-level performance. Granted, it would have probably made it as quick as the new M340i, despite having the hp and tq advantage. But nonetheless it should have gotten that, while the Premium Luxury should have gotten the current CT5 V's output.

@@4406bbldb In SI or MKS you have N m for torque so it seems everyone is following that with lb-ft in the English system. I have used foot-pounds for ages as I too am almost as old as dirt and built a few engines from 327-396 chevy, 401 Buick, 340 Buick, 302 Ford, 428 Ford etc. But the correct answer is: TORQUE applied to a bolt from your torque wrench is different than measuring WORK, which by SAE is Lbf - ft which is poundforce - foot Now work or brake torque is not Horsepower. Horsepower brings TIME into the equation - and answers the question "how fast is the work done?". Or how fast that Chevelle 327 go in the 1/4 mile? or How long is it going to take you to build that shed? - Sandy

Honestly it is a more expensive Stinger/G70 with slightly less performance and warranty. the magnetic ride control is worth it--but at 60k this should have the TT 3.5 and be at 450 plus HP--especially to wear the V badge.Not a bad car--actually a very good one--but at 60k there is a host of cars to choose from.

@@mfmf100 G80? Kia Stinger?? Interesting for who?? You?? Regardless, interesting doesn’t mean you have a sale. People rather take home the better alternative to the Genesis. Neither the Kia Stinger or Genesis G80 sit in this class of handling and performance. Cadillac’s driving dynamics alone blow Genesis completely out of the equation. Night and day difference in the level of engineering. m340i is not for the same money brother. Not with all the tech and features you’re getting here and then an even better value in the new 2022 CT5-V coming next year. Not hearing that one, bro.

@@mybro727 Stinger has comparable power, torque, performance and room for less $. What are you referring to “not in the same class”? By what measure besides your opinion? The CT5V starts just under 50. The M340 around 54. Sure the Caddy is more car for the $ but the idea that they’re not comparable price, especially when most people are likely comparing monthly payments, is just wrong.
