same I ordered a cool one from Amazon that look official but says to stay away, showing a gun to a guys head. Also I had a Silver/Grey Sharpie and colored the riser shifter P,R,N,etc. Makes it much better to see at a glance or at night. Also bought the aluminum Shifter support and it finally shifts better, some credit goes to lining it up properly by adjusting the nots on the shift rod.

Also, why do you get the extra 450rpm? Are the leavers you replaced lighter making the entire rotating mass lighter freeing up a little HP? That's the only thing I can think of. You were also moving 2-3 mph faster throughout the pull so you would be pulling away from the stock bike slowly the entire time.

If you watch some of our later videos, we actually don’t recommend clutch kits for these Can-Am machines. The best thing you can do is save up a little extra and get a cvtech clutch. With the 650, the engine make peak power at 8k RPM. Clutch kits don’t bring you anywheres near that. Same thing with the 850. They make peak power at 7200. When you make peak power at 7200, you actually have to adjust the clutching to be about 7400 RPM. This is because when the quad get a load on it like in mud or up a hill, naturally it’ll get slightly bogged down and bring it to that sweet spot of 7200. We’re going to be filming a whole clutch series coming up this spring on clutch kits vs cheaper aftermarket primary’s vs expensive aftermarket primary’s. We do have a video where I compared the Dalton clutch kit to a Cvtech and you’ll see the rpm difference is night and day. You can’t pay attention to MPH too much when clutching. A lot of times if you’re going to bigger tires, your Speedo will change as it is.

@@LetDirtFly I have watched all your clutch videos, and the riding as well. It was part of the reason I switched to the Ourtlander XMR from my sport quad Suzuki LTZ 400. I was going to go with CVtech based on your videos but then I read they ca come apart (explode) on guys causing damage. Plus you said they never come tuned properly and it seemed the darton springs and fingers would be easier to install and tune ( just swap springs). I live near Niagara Falls NY but in Canada , and we have some thick swampy clay so should I be worried about heat in the summer? I didn't see your 650 get uo to 8000rpm's in your cvtech video, I think it hit 7600? I may send you a video. Too bad you weren't closer as you two seem like a good bunch of guys to ride with.

What do the rivets do and where do they go? I just bought a 2021 650 XMR and the previous owner put on the XMR 850 rims and 30" Cryptid's on it and I don't know if he did anything anything to the clutches. How is this kit holding up? Do you recommend it for the 650 still?

Hi, what is Dalton clutch kit in comparisson with EPI one? Have you ever tried any of EPI clutch kits? They have utility, mud, and sand) I wand to try mud one cause I have 30 tyres on
@LetDirtFly11 ай бұрын
We don’t recommend clutch kits anymore on the Can-Ams. Talking to clutch experts, the stock primary clutch does not react well to clutch kits. You may get some raised rpm and a slight performance increase but you’re still not anywheres close to where the machine makes power. If you have a 650, you should be turning 8300 rpm to get the quad in its peak power. Clutch kits can’t get you up to that kind of RPM. We recommend at least a cvtech primary and a tune to raise rev limiter

@@LetDirtFly I have a 1000 xtp originally, but not it looks more like XMR. How can I rise the RPM, can I do it via Buds? or I need to have some other software?

Did you get a response from Dalton about the side play of the weights?

Never inquired about it, but from what I heard it’s normal. I have about 150 miles on the kit and haven’t had a issue yet. It’s awesome.

If you're using the dalton kit, you can contact them and have them send you a different spring that'll help get the clutch to backshift the way you'd like it to

U realize that you don't have to remove the floorboards to get the belt cover off right? I know you don't with the 1000 xmr. I would think it is the same with the 650.

Hey, any top speed lose with new clutch?

Haven’t noticed any. Where we ride I don’t really have the room to hit it’s top speed, but it pulls so much harder that it’s worth a mph or two if it did lose any

CanAm atv’s are made in Mexico.
@LetDirtFly4 жыл бұрын
Buckhorncamp they’re made/assembled in Mexico, US, and Canada. Canada is where Can Am originated, but due to the cost of manufacturing, moved facilities to different countries. Mine has a 3 in the beginning of the vin which stands for assembled in Mexico. All the parts are technically from around the world that are used to make the quads and everything else they make. When I said “made in Canada” I should’ve said originated in Canada lol. Can Am is technically made in World 😂
