You can pinch push the oil “O” rings around the cap to create a expansion point to remove the “O” rings as a tool in use will score the O ring lands making a point where it may not seal.

This video is really lacking in actual details of this job. The drain plug should have gasket maker on it, the amount of oil added would obviously be helpful, and when filling and checking level the owners manual says to run engine til warm and then check that level is between low and full indicators. The only thing helpful about this video is showing how much radiator guards can help.

Also do you do your own tire changes? if so can you do a video on how to do a tire change please?
@joeltandberg3 жыл бұрын
I don't change the actual tire myself but I do remove the wheels and take them in, it saves a lot of money and usually goes a lot faster and in many cases you don't even need an appointment. Also, if you have a Cycle Gear and you buy the tires from them or Revzilla, they install them for only $25 each.

@@joeltandberg I did not know that!!!!!! This whole time over been seeing over 1000 dollars to get my oil change wigg my tire changes done! Can you do a video on how to take the wheels off pls?! And the tools needed! Do you run Diablo corsa 2 on your bike I think its harder in the middle ans softer on the sides? I tend to do alot of backroad riding amd those last me alot longer than the stock which are soft all the way around. I think those are the names of the tires I have on. Also what are your thought on changing the front tire with the rear tire at the same time? Or do you think I can change my front when it looses tread. Because the guys at the delesrship tell me to change them both at once evrytjme my rear gets low but I feel like I'm just wasting mo ey amd tire still

@@lavidadevinodh Personally, unless they are close, I treat my tires individually for wear unless I am going to a completely different tire. I think the Rosso Corsa 2 is a great tire for the street. I may do a tire change video, that's a great idea!

i own a 2019 ducati panigale v4s i bought brand new at the delearship and in 7 months i have a little over 20,000 miles. i ride all year long in st.louis and my delarship tells me i have to do my oil change through them, is that true or do you think i can do it myself? honeslty im just tried paying over 300 for an oil change and seeing you do it looks like i can do it too. Any thoughts on if i should just keep getting it done at the deleaship or do you think an oil change can be done yourself. I just dont see a reason as too why i have to take it back to get it done everytime, other than they just want the money.....
@joeltandberg3 жыл бұрын
First off, congrats on the miles! You are using that thing! Secondly, You are under no obligation to have the dealership change your oil, even for warranty concerns. Save your receipts for oil and buy the filter from them, then document when you perform them. The only way this could effect your warranty would be if you did something improperly or not frequently enough. I tend to do my oil changes every 2000-3000 miles and bring my bike to the dealer for major services or warranty work. Just remember, they cannot void your warranty because of where your oil changes get done, just as long as they get done and get done properly.
@lavidadevinodh3 жыл бұрын
@@joeltandberg wow thank you so much! I'll definitely do it myself then! Are you a mechanic? Or did you just figure it out yourself though the manual? I recently had to buy additional ducati insurance because they told me ducati only covers the bike up too 22,000 miles or 24,000 miles or 2 years to which ever comes first so I ended up spending 2000 for another 4 year coverage because of the miles I put on it already. Thanks again I really appreciate your help!

This violates the Magnussen-Moss act and is 100% illegal. Harley just got in HUGE trouble for this and had to send letters to every Harley owner that has bought in the last 2 years notifying them that they are under no obligation to have the Dealer maintain the bike to keep thier warranty. In the USA its 100% illegal for them to imply this.

I have found the same information... that the cylinder takes 3 hours to drain. Have confirmed with dealer.
@rmnanney3 жыл бұрын
I received similar feedback from my local dealership. Give two hours at least for it to fully drain into the oil sump, then do your change. You should also wait after filling the oil... after adding your new oil to the appropriate level in the sight glass, run the motor for a few moments to cycle oil (into the oil filter which is essentially empty/dry, for example) then let it sit for a couple hours and check through the sight glass and add oil as necessary. Just sharing what I was told, about to do the first change on my 2021 V4S today.

That is probably the lighting. It was still pretty green. That was Motul 300V with about 5 weeks use with 2100 miles.
@ethanmax31684 жыл бұрын
Just a heads up. Motul 300V is not your street oil. Motul 300V is a track oil and the viscosity will only last about 300 miles. This oil is meant for the track with a maximum of two track race and then change. Learned this by accident and also Motul does not advertise this oil for street use. I sent an oil sample to start a base line of my oil and everything check good except viscosity, it had no viscosity and was very water like, the oil had 321 miles on it when I sent the sample. I called Motul North America and the gentlemen advice me that this oil is for track use only and it’s not for street use. Also just in case. Your bike only takes 3.2 quarts of oil.

@@ethanmax3168 Interesting. My Ducati dealer puts Motul 300v in all their v4's.

R. S. Yep, it’s the best oil out there for sure but not for daily. Is a track focus oil. Contact Motul North America. They’ll tell you. There’s another Motul oil for daily but I rather use Maxima maxum extra 4. Plus it’s like water when you drain it out. I found it funny how watery it came out. When I had it tested it has 0 viscosity. All those v4s will have bad oil very quickly
@joeltandberg4 жыл бұрын
@@ethanmax3168 Well, I'm not sure I 100% agree with that 300 mile statement. Motul has certified the 300V for use in 24 hour endurance races and I have to assume that most things worth racing could cover a lot more than 300 miles in 24 hours. Personally, I have been using Moutl 300V in 6 different Ducati's with 2000-5000 mile change intervals with zero issues for almost 100,000 miles. I will say that I change the oil immediately after track days no matter how old it is.
