Fischer rocks and is my favorite all mountain ski hands down...As an expert I have been on Fischer ski's for the last 20 years and I can guarantee Fischer has the best edges on the planet.My current ski for the last 2 years is the Curve GT which 80 under foot and the most incredible turning ski I have ever been on.I also own a sweet pair of Blizzard Quattro 84 under foot that shreds the hill but is not on the same level as the Curve GT.My next all mountain ski is definitely going to be the 86 GT.

I do most of my ski maintenance myself, and I have many skis in my quiver, mostly Atomic Volkl , Salomon , Elan ,Blizzard and Fischer. They all ski good, and I like all of them, but build quality -wise fischer skis are two classes higher, ( maybe only Stockli is better ) Their edges remain sharper much longer, but they rust a little faster , which probably comes down to the composition of the steel . They are usually also the heaviest skis in similar category as they use 0.8 titanal and ski tails are full of steel too . 👍🏻👍🏻

And Curv GT is also my favorite ski of them all

I love it when Bob asks me "how's it going". I always think "good Bob thanks" and then remember he's not actually in the same room as me. :-)

The guy with the all black Fischer outfit on is a good skier

Indeed. The toque only adds to the quality.

Great review. How does it compare to the Deacon 84 Low ride? Which is better at variable on piste conditions plus a little off piste? Thanks in advance. Nick.

In my opinion, the RC One is more versatile. There's more taper in its shape, which gives it a more intuitive feel off piste. Overall, they're pretty similar, but the RC One feels more like an all-mountain ski to me. Still rips on firm snow too.

Hello Jeff, I am 235 pounds male skier. I consider myself an expert all mountain skier that loves carving and fast skiing. I ski mostly in west side, California, Utah, Colorado. I do own a powder ski Rossignol Super 7 RD for my power days and Elan GS SKi but I am looking for new carving all day skies for this year. What is your opinion on these 3 Skies and which one would you choose? FISCHER RC ONE 86 GT 2019Rossignol Hero Elite Multi-Turn TI @183cm Rossignol New REACT R8 Ti 182CM Thank you for your feedback

So the GT 86 is like a slightly narrower Brahma or Kendo? If I’ve already got the Brahma (18/19) an Augment AM88, and Deacon 84, and wanted a more fun, playful mid-high 80s ski (with some rocker and/or camber) that still carves and bombs, would that not be the GT, but something like an Enforcer or Soulrider? (I don’t ski park, switch, etc so I’ve never thought of a true twin-tip) Can you even compare the GT 86 to the Spitfire 80?
@SkiEssentials4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, basically. Slightly narrower, and surprisingly slightly more versatile too because of the slight differences in shape. I do think the 86 GT would fill your little niche nicely. Playful, yes, but it absolutely rips. The metal is as thick as their FIS race skis. No, I don't think it would be fair to compare the 86 GT to a Spitfire 80. The 86 GT is so much more of an all-mountain ski. Spitfire 80 is still more of a carving ski than anything else, just happens to be a wide one you can buy flat.

Skiessentials.com OK thank you. I had a good idea from your reviews that the GT skewed more Brahma than Deacon. So, selfishly, I was throwing it up against the Spitfire as the last ski that I was looking at for a quiver gap filler, and had asked you about in another thread - for a wider race-build ski that doesn’t let you down too much off piste (where I found the Deacon does not perform well at all). Thank you for indulging me.

8:21 "Without naming names." This is exactly why I just can't fully trust your reviews. You need to be upfront and free in your thinking. You're sitting there trying to have a full conversation, but you ultimately are trying to not piss off manufacturers. People therefore can't make an informed decision. I just feel more and more like these are commercials.
@SkiEssentials4 жыл бұрын
Oh! I'll name names. I just didn't think it was necessarily in that scenario because we talk about that stuff a lot. Brahma and Kendo were basically the skis I was referring to in that moment. We talk a lot about their power and on-trail prowess, but how they can be challenging in softer snow and variable conditions/terrain. The shape of the RC One 86 GT and the materials used in the tip and tail give it a more user-friendly, easier-to-manipulate feel in those conditions. Disappointed to hear you think of our reviews as commercials. I've pissed off plenty of manufacturers, trust me. We try to be as honest and straight-forward as possible, but I will keep your comment in mind going forward. Just subbed to your channel, looks like you make some fun videos1

I'd throw Vantage 90 Ti from Atomic into the same list because it's stiff and mostly camber. Lighter, though. I keep thinking about your comment. I didn't mean to have it seem like I was trying to "protect" other skis or manufacturers. In the future, I'll be careful not to generalize in case it's perceived that way.
@MattShafter4 жыл бұрын
@@SkiEssentials it's no problem. I take back what I said about the other comment. You guys DO make key remarks about where a ski stands in relation to others, it's just that you have to listen for it. You're doing a narrative, not a quick and dirty ranking. It's a qualitative piece, not a quantitative show. I actually just pulled the trigger on the Elan Wingman 86cti based on what you guys said, and cross checking it with other sources. So you guys were a help. Thanks for doing these. Because I also gear reviews I was getting a little excited. 'll calm down in the future!

Did you guys do any demos on Elans?

Yes! Lots of feedback on Elan in our Ski Test: www.skiessentials.com/2020-ski-test/category/brands/elan/ and we've got a full length review of the Ripstick 88: www.skiessentials.com/Chairlift-Chat/2020-Elan-Ripstick-88-Ski-Review/
