I traded in my 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid and bought the 2020 SE Sport Hybrid. Our short-list of cars included the Forester, CR-V, and Escape. We researched the RAV4 and CX5, also; ruled them out based on our own criteria (too long to cover here). We each test drove the CR-V and Forester. Test drove both the gas and hybrid versions of the Escape. It was important to me that my wife totally approve of the car we bought, even though it was to be “my” car. The negative comments on the looks of the car surprise me. My wife loves it. Our neighbors like it. At three stores I went to after I bought it, the employees were like, “Wow, what is that? Looks sharp!” I’m averaging > 40mpg. It has good acceleration--fantastic in sport mode. Comfortable seating; well laid out controls; good cargo space-I’ve already transported 16 bags of heating pellets, with space for more, plenty of safety features; Apple CarPlay.

I just purchased a 2021 Ford Escape Titanium Hybrid. So far…nothing to complain about. In city driving I’ve been achieving 45-52 MPG and that’s pretty damn good! This is my first ever hybrid and I’m still getting use to some of the quirks of the vehicle. The breaking in this vehicle is definitely something you have to get use to….very soft and rubbery like. Be careful when parking in front or back of a wall with those breaks….yikes and whew! I hear all hybrids have this issue. As far as the build, quality and esthetic of the Ford Escape…I like it. There have been many many reviews on this vehicle about poor build quality, cheap materials used. Come on people! Name me a Toyota, Honda, GM product, German product that doesn’t use cheap plastics. 🙄 As for the looks….that right there is is called personal preference. Whatever your attracted to is what your attracted to. The escape may not be it, maybe it’s the more of the pimped out fat tire RAV4….again personal preference. But by no means don’t diss the escape because of it. I find my new escape to be a competent, quiet and agile cruiser for both urban and suburb driving. I’m I going to take this to the mountains hunting…NO! Nor will you take the RAV4 or Honda CRV….not what the were made for. They weren’t made for the speed racer out either…just saying…🤷🏻♂️

1 month in with the 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid Titanium and love it. Averaging 43.8 mpg. I have had the Lincoln MKC the last 6 years, their replacement for 2020, the Corsair, is way over priced for a base model. It's surprisingly quiet like the MKC was, still has get up and go without having the EcoBoost. Some reviews say there is too road noise but I don't think so. Love the crisp, clear and loud sound from the Bang & Olufsen stereo, a step up from Lincolns THX. A few plasticky features like the door panels but all in all a nice looking and feeling interior.

Feels to me like the Escape looks good in specific colors, especially the green option. But others are extra bland, and highlight some of the so-so exterior features. What's truly criminal, however, is how poor the interior is on the base S trim. Losing the touch screen makes it look absurd, and the hub caps are terrible. I'd imagine Ford won't sell many, created more to advertise a price point than anything else.

Hi Micah, thanks, nice review. Your wife seems like a nice person and your daughter is sweet. I know you from you helicopter KZbin channel (for which I am a subscriber). Found this review while searching for 2020 Escape hybrid info. My wife wants to swap her 2009 Escape hybrid for a 2020 hybrid sport SE model. She drove one last week and loved it, but there aren’t many available, so we’ll have to do a factory order and wait for production to resume. No worries, we aren’t pressed for time. I would have preferred the plug in version, particularly the tax incentives, but we live in CO so she demands AWD. Too bad. I hated the fake wood in the Titanium trim version. Kim did the entire test drive, but she liked the steering and braking. She likes the swoopier lines of the 2020 Escape, but she is also drawn to the blocky look of the future Bronco Sport. We found out they won’t initially offer the Bronco Sport with a hybrid engine, and she’s not willing to wait 2 years or more. She doesn’t like the shape of the RAV4 and said the CRV hybrid looks like a granny car. So she’s decided she wants an Escape hybrid in rapid red color, with sandstone Active X seats. Thanks again for your review.

RAV4 was good but a felt a bit to big. CRV’s NVH was not good which included the engine. I especially liked that escape shows you tires pressure for each tire. On the Toyota you need an app. I say go with the escape.

Who said the Focus was dead in America? Jokes aside, if the drivetrain performs as well as our 2012 Fusion Hybrid has, the new Escape will make our short list when it's time to replace the Fusion. We already like the RAV4; waiting on reviews of the recently released CRV. We both really dislike the slapped on look of the Touchscreen in both the RAV4 and the Escape; but the CRV's touchscreen system is showing its age.
@Scott-N-Atl4 жыл бұрын
@@Brew-doo Yes, equally configured the RAV4 Limited and the Escape Titanium AWD are within about $1500 of each other. But, the Escape will likely have discounts that neither the RAV4 nor the CRV will have. And as stockholders, we get special Ford X Plan pricing on all new vehicles. And as far as reliability - we've had Zero problems with our Fusion Hybrid - 8 years trouble free (d@mn Takata airbags notwithstanding). All of is may be a mute point though, as our commute has changed from 90% city/10% highway to about 50/50 now; so a traditional gas vehicle may be better for us. We have about 12 months to research and analyze before making our decision.

I just started a new job and the work vehicle is the Escape Hybrid. First impression of the interior is ok, nothing great. Everything that is digital, the dashboard the apps the Nav is extremely slow to react and very annoying! I personally don't like the shifter. The steering feel is extremely light and disconnected which it makes it feel like a car from the 70's and 80's. As for the styling the back looks good some would say bland. The side view is sleek and the lines flow but the front end is nauseating. It looks like left over parts slapped together making it look like a fish. Things that make the front look bad are the size and shape of the stretched out headlights that come up too high onto the hood. The Ford logo should be in the grill not on the top painted plastic. It would have looked a lot better if they would have tried to give it a family resemblance to the Edge. Even the front of the Mach-E (not a Mustang) has a better looking front end. The styling will not age well.

"The original ford escape looked very bloockkkyyyy" Ok.. first of all... stop. That is not the "First" ford escapes... the first Ford Escape was basically a 1-1 copy of a Mazda Tribute which was very much so rounded on the windows/trim package. When they updated in the Hybrid series of escapes, they began to square off the trim but even then it was still very rounded. After that (08-10 models) the frame and trim was much sharper and blocked off... And then what does ford do? They RUINED The escape look... made it an over sized Ford Fiesta and destroyed everything nice about the escape... put a meh engine in it, lowered it so it was basically a car, got rid of the trunk space... just... bleh... It stopped being an SUV and became something that Grandma takes the kids to church in... The Mazda CX-5 (the spiritual successor to the Tribute/Escape line) Looked like a real sharp n classy SUV... while the ford escape is only just now starting to come around and look like something someone under 70 AND single would drive. If you compare to say a Kia Seltos and look at the effort they went to to make something interesting and fun, then compare to this; a more expensive car with fewer features and less warranty.
