The ecoboost mustang is a great first sports car. It taught me how to work on cars, how rear wheel drive handling dynamics work, how tire temps and oil temps are important, how to manage oversteer, all without killing yourself. For everyone saying you should have gotten the GT, is just an idiot. The GT will be the next stepping stone. Not everyone is a full blown experience driver capable of handling 500 HP out of the box. And the people that pretend they are, end up plowing into a crowd or wrapped around a pole.

You either get eco or boost. That's what I like about the engine. When I drive like a normal person, I'll get 22 in the city, 34 on the highway, but when those days come that I wanna push her, I'll get super fun, fast, sporty driving. 0-60 in 4.8 seconds. Its plenty fast and fun.

I'm all about the v8 too, but I don't hate this, I think it is pretty cool and I don't see why not. The v8 is still there, it's more of a muscle/gt car, whereas this is a more nimble sports car. The sound isn't all that special or great even for a 4cyl though.

I have this car. Same everything. Manual. I get heat from others that it’s a girls car and it’s a 4cyl. That’s into a GT. I got the car for my needs because I drive over the desert 🏜 between high mountains ⛰ where I work everyday- and this car does such an amazing job there! Rear wheel and Ton of power when you need it! Ecoboost, if built and treated right, can put a shame on v8.

I went ahead and deleted the muffler and resonator. Cool. It was loud. Neighbors hated me it sounded like death itself. But I needed more...so I got a gun shot tune for it. Now my entire area hates me. I feed off this hate and push the pedal harder. I prefer this over it being silent. I will terrorize everyone until I get my gt so they can feel my pain and hear it . Also worthy to note a 1500 turbo will put it at 450 hp with cheaper bolt ons which is insane.

@@daphenom45... Possibly, but I actually went with/chose a (19) WRX instead of a BRZ. The Mrs. Wasn't too keen on many of the BRZ attributes, mainly the small backseat and low step in/seat. According to her, the WRX is more 'pracrical'. The power equation had nothing to do with it. I would happily daily a BRZ (all year round) and in some ways miss revving a car to 7200rpm. The WRX falls 2500rpm shy in this dept so it doesn't quite have the same feel.

K03sport I considered a toyota 86 before I bought my ‘16 EB mustang. I LOOOOVE the way the 86/brz looks. When I went to the dealer I left not really wanting it anymore. For 28k , before taxes and fees, It felt slow, too basic of an interior, and useless backseat. Now, obviously I wasn’t expecting major space back there but, for the money just lacked the practicality that comes useful sometimes. For 25k, I bought my mustang, non PP, premium trim. Much more practical, better interior, more powerful. Now, I live in central Fl. No mountains or twisties. My mustang handles great in my daily driving situations. So, really, the 86/brz only makes sense if you live in an area that will allow you to take advantage if its lighter body, though, still lacks power. I would not benefit at all from the 86/brz’s nimbleness. Instead, id be mad at having spent 30k in a 6.7- 7 sec car.

Yo coming from an EcoBoost owner it’s fun and quick on the streets because of the low end torque. Gonna keep it for about a year then trade in for a gt fasho. If you disconnect the turbo valve under the hood and plug the whole youll have a blow off with now loss of power. Makes it sound cooler when you let off the gass

Kaiser Konig you can get a very lightly used manual GT for like 28-29k. It’s also much faster in a quarter mile; Ecoboost is like 13.9 - 14.1 second Qr mile and the GT runs 11.9 - 12.3 second quarter mile with a trap speed about 13-14 mph faster.

New stangs have 10-speed autos. I test drove a 2020 mustang Ecoboost and was blown away by its ability to shift gears. Unless you just like the feel of manual there’s really no need to go out of your way for one anymore if you’re buying newer.

is it me or is it just weird hearing a mustang in an inline 4 engine? not hating or being a “oNly v8 sHouLd bE iN a MuStaNG” kind of guy but i just think that the inline 4 sound doesnt fit in that car....just sayin...the focus engine is good thoooo

That is the Focus RS engine, just slightly detuned for whatever reason.

Eric Torres it loses power because how they had to mount the engine or something like that. Was in an interview with one of the Ford engineers

It's not that weird considering there were two previous generations of Mustang that came with 4 bangers. There was even a time where a turbocharged 4 cylinder was the fastest new Mustang you could buy.

Ford sent Jay Leno a mustang with the 5.0 and the mustang with the 2.3 turbo and he said he loved the 4 cylinder more. But I mean that's not allowed right?

Test drove a lime green one today man I liked it better than the GT no lie and camera don't do the exaust justice it sounds soo good and the lightness of it is awesome
