How much more complicating can these vehicles get? Also, FYI, last bunch of videos, you have some mic issues. If you have swapped mic’s, I would say the mic you used a few months back was clearer, and less noisey. Are you using some type of noise suppression? In my opinion, it is having the opposite effect you want 8t to. Otherwise, another informative video. Thanks for sharing your trials and wins. They are very lucky to have your services in your area!

Thanks for the feedback. Yes ive been trying out a mic and it has noise canceling capabilities but sometimes I want the background noise ie engine noise. I'm going to try to get a different one.

Great video. Gm wants the battery disconnected before you push the pistons in on the front calipers. There are pressure and position sensors that can be recalibrated afterwards. For the rear brakes it's necessary to put the truck in "Service " mode.

Good to know and makes sense

Same happened here. Drove around w squishy brakes and a 43 mph limit for a few miles. Parked it. When I came back an hour later the codes were gone and brakes worked fine. We only changed front brakes and sensor.

I had one the same today, I had done all the brakes on the same truck before with no issues. I guess I got lucky and had it in service mode to do the rear, no issue. Today I did only the front and got all these lights and codes. Without a scan tool I guess a guy would be off to a garage to get it cleared up. I thought the pedal felt a bit high and weird, but owner says its normal. Just the same, another complication - is it really necessary?

Next time disconnect the battery before pushing the caliper pistons in. Be sure to pump the brake pedal til calipers reset then reconnect the battery.

@@PhillipBailey Oh I will remember, but who would have thunk it lol. Alternatively, will putting it in service mode also work, to save restting the clock, radio etc. ?
@peterl20177 ай бұрын
Its hard to believe that disconnecting the battery is the GM procedure. Really disconnecting the battery means a relearn on a lot of things, plus the clock/radio presets, one would think it would be a last resort.
@PhillipBailey7 ай бұрын
@peterl2017 no that won't work. GM says disconnect the battery. After pushing the caliper pistons in and then stepping on the brake the system sees low brake pressure in the front and assumes there's a leak.

@@PhillipBailey Good to know, how did I get away with it the last time?

I had the same thing happened to mine. It was because I didn’t unhook the battery and pressed in the pistons and I use the scan tool and cleared everything off. If I would’ve done that, I would’ve only been going 40 miles an hour.

After you change the brakes just move it as carefully as you can park it and leave it for a few minutes it will re-set
@PhillipBaileyАй бұрын
@joshuachikumbindi3795 once this code is set you will need a scan tool to clear it.

@@PhillipBaileymine cleared itself after an hour. No scan done.

@joshuachikumbindi3795 thanks for the comment. That may have worked for you but this customer let his truck sit overnight before bringing it to me.
