I applied to almost all of these Ed policy programs a few years ago. I was accepted to Columbia and Harvard Ed policy masters programs. I ended up attending Harvard Graduate School of Education!! Good luck at Columbia!!

How long did it take from the time you finished the application process (interviews included-if applicable) to the time they sent out decisions? I just finished PhD interviews with Berkeley a couple of days ago, and I am so anxious to find out whether or not I've been accepted! I know each program is different, but I wanted to know generally more or less. Congratulations on all your acceptances! What an accomplishment!

I submitted most of my applications in December, and started receiving decisions in mid-February til late March. from my experience, PhD admission decisions come earlier than master's, but that also depends on your specific program's timeline. good luck with all your decisions !

Hi Dev! it depends on the institutions you apply to. some will require an interview, while others won't. typically admission to a master's program does not have an interview portion. it is more common for PhD admission

@@camerondiwa hm, actually I mean to talk to a professor in order to understand if he / she is a good fit for you and your research. I mean, I am from Brazil and here is not common to contact professor during application time. However, some friends of us told me that it’s really hard to get into a excellent university if you do not contact any professor. I am a little confused about it. That’s why I would like to know if u did it

@@ThayHenriques got it. so what you are wondering about is typical if you are applying to PhD programs. before applying, you want to do your own research and assess whether your interests align with faculty interests. if they do, you can contact the professor to talk more about their research. however, some, if not most, PhD programs do not strictly require that you reach out to professors. the important thing is that your research interests align with the professor's interests. hope this helps!
