I have a Seiko Recraft SNK25 it's no a Grand Seiko obviously but it is a beautifly finished watch with a gorgeous deep green dial , I love it .

Unlike americans, wich i´m guessing you are, we (Europeans) don´t think wearing a mask is a threat to our civil liberties or personal liberties, we understand fully that it is a health situation and a mitigation factor in the spreading of the disease. Oh and by the way we wear masks so we don´t spread water particules that linger in the air for hours infecting other people and not because we´re afraid of our own germs.

I tried on a few of these (SBGE253, SBGE255), they're just too thick. I like the look visually, but they're just as thick as the much larger SBGE201 and at the smaller diameter it looks out of proportion. GS really needs to slim these watches down (kind of a problem across the brand but most notable on the sport watches). The clasp seemed decent, I wish they would start doing more clasps with micro adjusts and not the usual micro clasp which are harder to get comfortable. The MSRP on these does also seem a bit much, same price as the seasons watches which have a lot more going on which makes the pricing stand out on why this is so much.

If the bezel rotated it would've been hard grasp to rotate with a smooth edge anyway so the look would ve had to change too. Can anyone think of another watch where the seconds arm floats in this way? Seems very rare and its rather mesmerizing to look at.

I love Grand Seiko, but generally don’t wear watches without good water resistance and lume. Lack of lume is the reason I never picked up the Snowflake, which has the best dial for the price point. Finally, they are making watches with lume that aren’t another diver. I want a Spring Drive watch, but I like the lumed bezel on the Hi-beat version better. Hopefully there will be a Spring Drive, sapphire bezel version soon. Still, Grand Seiko gives you tank tough, complete integrated manufacturing, and unique aesthetic at the best value proposition.

Cameron Thurman why not pick up the old Spring drive with sapphire bezel? Big piece specifics wise, but wears pretty well, with the soft and round bezel.

@@cameronthurman2512 there are, two actually! The steel one is Sbge201, and then there is also a blue two-tone one, sbge248. The Sbge201 is absolutely gorgeous, you should try to find one!

I just picked up a snowflake and the hands are so fine polished you can read it in very low light conditions because it reflects light so well. obviously not comparable to lumed hands ofc. I like lume on my diver seiko, but clean hands look nicer tbh. the snowflake has a screw down crown and it's tested for 100m water resistance so I think it's more than enough

If you're really bothered about a watch maintaining it's value, you can't afford it. These are luxury items, not necessities. Save your money and then buy it when you can comfortably afford it, that way you can wear it and enjoy it without any stress :)

Honestly, it really depends on your personal choice of which movement and design you prefer. Both awesome watches. but if is your only GS watch, I would go for the Spring Drive.

How? This is a ceramic fixed bezel so it's not a copy of the Exp. II. If it's bezel rotated it might be, maybe, somewhat similar to an GMT Master II. But it doesn't. And since the case is better refined than both of those models I don't see a copy cat. I've owned a couple Exp. II. Great watches! But here's possibly another....
