They are listening. Smaller and micro adjustment. Awesome. Will look great on a 20/16 strap. I wear my sbge201 on a 22/18 strap. Got to squeeze in the 21 lug gap. GS knows how to make big watches wear small. The lume on the sapphire glass bezel is really special. The non distortion and non reflective pitched black dial is perfect backdrop for the sparkling hands and markers. Still a winner.

I was initially hooked on the blue but now looks like green is winning. Stopping by an AD tomorrow to check them out. Looks like GS knocked this one out of the park. Wished the bezel rotated and it being fixed is kind of redundant. But that is fine. 8.5/10.

@@ruvarkus Yes, I did. I initially liked the black one when I saw the pictures online. But in person, the green dial is my choice. It is a dark forest green and in certain lighting, appears as black.

I too thought I wanted the Blue dial, because it looks stunning. Went to AD and they just go in the Green one and...I prefer it. I do not have a green watch and its a very dark green and not overly saturated, in some light it is more Black then Green. Looks great, but very different in person, and for the better :) I saw the Blue one in person too now, and that is great looking, the blue GMT hand being a great touch, while I do like the Blue, I am still drawn to the Green :)
@MinuteMon4 жыл бұрын
Green is a great choice! Yes we noticed that too in dim lighting the green will look dark green / black. Thanks for sharing!

I can't decide which one to choose. My AD has green only, which looks great on wrist. Now, as you already tried both of these watches. What do you think, why green watch looks better for you?
@Zonbie3 жыл бұрын
@@ruvarkus Hiya, So, the green as you know is more a dark desaturated green, so it looks great in any light. In direct sun it becomes very green - I have options for many watch colours but never green, and green is often too overbearing so its hard to outfit to, but since its darker it wears easy. Very happy with it, the watch with the tan GMT hand and dark green has more an earthy color scheme, that I like. The Blue is much brighter . it does not have the same "in dark room its black" like the green. So you can tell its blue, a very nice blue and the GMT bright blue hand is great looking too. You cannot go wrong with either. If you do not feel the green is quite enough to "pull the trigger" hold off and try the blue. I tried the green and liked it alot, but when i tried on the blue it made my decision to go for the green instead.

I'm a sucker for a blue dial and have never really seen a green watch I liked, but I have to agree with you here- the green is perfect. It's stunning, and dark enough that it is wearable with a lot of different outfits, it's not an ugly bright green, etc. I'm getting one of these GMT'S later this year and am pretty set on the green.

Wearing the green one day old - love it. I still love the Rolex Datejust 41, both unique. The Rolex has the best mechanical movement available today and looks a bit dressy but not overwhelming. The GS has the most unique and accurate electromechanical movement and looks cool. I feel sorry for the store which still has 44 mm GMT's in their inventory.

in graphic design if you like to stand out, designers tend to steer away from blue. Overused, too corporate. The green is the right shade, similar to that of a Jaguar, its refreshing to see.

I want the black one so badly. I have always loved the classic steel and black sub mariner, especially with the red writing on the face of it, and the SBGE253 reminds me so much of it. On top of all that, I have never before liked a submariner copy from any brand, but the SBGE253 for some reason gets a pass from me. I know I can't be the only one to thing this way!

I stopped by at one of the the Grand Seiko boutiques in Germany last week. And as it happened, I was shown the SBGE257 as I also have the wearbility issue with many of the Grand Seikos. Despite my desire, it would not be a sustainable purchase as the cases of most more sporty offerings (or the chronographs) are just too big. The dealer showed me the green and the blue model just out of curiosity - and after three nights of thinking it was still stuck in my head and i had to buy it. Will say good bye to another watch for this, but zero regrets. Looking forward to return from holidays and to pick it up in two weeks. Great video and presentation! What is your motivation to go with the blue? The only thing that made me consider it is the fact that it is of course more versatile to dress :)

@MinuteMon4 жыл бұрын
The watch has got some thickness, but like most Seiko or GS watches they manage it really well with the sloping of the lugs and curvature of the case. Fits better on the wrist than just the paper specs!
@SirMopy4 жыл бұрын
Carat & Co. Watches & Jewelry yes, true! I read some other comments in the interwebs and they all say the caseback is literally digging into the wrist (comfortably) so it wears thinner than it is.. If they went with a sapphire it might not dig that much into the wrist to have the same water resistant. Sadly we can‘t enjoy the amazing movement.
@medroastt98884 жыл бұрын
In 2020 I would expect some kind of "glidelock" type of micro adjustment, not the oldy manual type. And 14.7mm is still too thick regardless of the case/lug slope design.

@liamboncodin17854 жыл бұрын
It's good to know that GS is starting to listen to its consumers. But for this watch, scaling down the lug to lug and diameter of the watch without slimming it down would only make it chunkier. It sucks to be a dude with 6 inch wrist who's more of a sports watch kinda guy

So close to being perfect. I can handle the date at 4 o clock but the lack of frame around it looks a bit poo. Also I hate that power reserve, it unnecessarily clutters the dial. I still definitely want one but not sure if those details would wear me down.

These GMT'S check all the boxes for me. I've got a diver (Breitling Superocean) and a chronograph (Speedy Pro) so I'm excited to add another complication to my collection. These GS GMTs with their much improved proportions (compared to the previous models) blow everything else in its price range out of the water. The Tudor Black Bay GMT is the only other GMT that I'd say comes close in value, but the date issue knocks it down a peg.

@@oscarschiff9180 40mm is my limit for any watch, I’m a big guy with 8 inch wrists and anything below 40mm just looks like a child’s watch on me.
