we are disappointed with our 2019 Kona, we took it in for a recall for double clutch assembly but periodically it seems to be still revving high but the drive not engaging and motor often is jerky and running rough. We have taken it back to a Hyundai dealership again only to be told that they cannot find any fault, which is making us look foolish. I am 67 years old and owned cars for 52 years so am no novice. Other than this problem we are having the Kona is great, handles well, has plenty of power and is economical.

Yes, new car warranties are mostly worthless for drivability issues. They will all usually say, "They all run like that" and do nothing unleass a part fall off the car - even then they will blame you. Schedule a meeting with the Service Manger, sit down with him, tell him your issues and maybe go for a drive with him. That usually get results - if the SM has half a heart. If that goes no where go, to the Owner. If nothing, then Call the assistant attorney General and have them call the dealer with a threat to file for Breach of Contract.

Here in Hawaii we need to get permission from our Kupunas (elders) before we can attain a name to attach to a person or animal or bad luck comes to them. The name is usually given not chosen. I hope Hyundai realizes that.

Ah. yet another grotesquely overpriced subcompact car based "CUV". I Don't meant to dump on Hyundai in particular, as most manufacturers are playing this game now. Example: Honda moved the tiny and tinny Honda Fit manufacturing to Mexico, jacked up the car and slapped the cheapest AWD system in it with a twist beam rear axle(!) installed a gutless engine and a terrible CVT and then have the Audacity to charge over 25 grand for the thing. It' a 19K car on a GOOD day. At least you can still get a 2020 Ford EcoSport that handles way better and has a 2 litre engine for around $17K new, with generous incentives. Or a lightly used $105,000.00 BMW 750li twin turbo V8 AWD Flagship Saloon for $12K; add a 3K warranty for peace of mind and you are good as gold. - Sandy [Reservation? I do dislike BMW though]

You have not driven a Kona because you’re talking about a Honda. There is a difference between Honda and Hyundai. But you’re a Ford boy so I wouldn’t expect any intelligence out of your mouth.
