I have the cherokee 2. 4 4x4 with sunroof and the nappa leather seats . It's very comfortable for long rides and they did a great job with the suspension. The 4x4 system is really good. In mud and sand performs well. The drive is very smooth and silent the chassis does help

Very informative. I actually went with the Compass. CPO 2018 Compass Limited with 10,200 miles for $19,500. two tone paint, pano roof, 8.4 inforsystem, heated seats and S/wheel, remote start. Very roomy like you said. Absolutely love my Compass!

I just bought a 2017 Jeep Compass Latitude with Cold weather package, popular package and upgraded wheels and 9 speed transmission and you know what? I love it. Like brand new. Rides like a dream and handling is awesome. Drove in snow twice and it really is effortless when going in snow. Jeep did a great job and got it in really mint condition for under $20,000 before tax and license and only 68,000 miles. It’s like no one really sat in this Jeep. We leased a 19 Cherokee limited. Loved it so much that we bought it. It works really well with my wife's apple car play. You can get into settings and have the seat heat automatically come on when you start it. Settings are good. I like the v6. These are fantastic very affordable vehicles. I normally drive a truck or a Challenger. When I get into the Cherokee, it's so easy to drive around. It's like a breath of fresh air.

These reviews are quite good. Considering they are in snowy Canada and I'm in southern California, some of these things, like heated steering wheel and seats, definitely are not necessary. I wish that Chrysler took cue from the PT Cruiser and the rear seats lowered flat or even moved forward to increase cargo room. I saw a person place a clothes dryer into the rear of the PT. The PT, for its age, has some better features for cargo. But, these Jeeps are a lot nicer and hopefully not a money pit like the PT became. I did love the PT for it's roaring engine and comfort. Seat was at the perfect height like the Jeeps. I had a chance to test drive the Compass and it was gorgeous inside. For med size to shorter people, there was more than enough room to feel comfortable and not confined.

Great review. To me the most important thing to talk about with FCA fwd based suvs is the 9 speed automatic and it's poor programing. Then there is the pricetag which is way to high especially given there lack of build quality/ reliability

I have test driven both 2019 Cherokee Limited and 2022 Compass High Altitude. Very similar looking but Cherokee hands down feels and handles better. 3.0L V6 engine suits my needs as an assertive driver. I like the size and look of the Compass better but the 2019 and higher Cherokee’s look pretty nice. I like that Jeep has something for everyone.

Went with an Overland Cherokee and 2.0L upgraded motor for mom and was very impressed with it. Motor gives it a lot of power perfect for the size and interior (especially the seats) were wonderful with a surprising amount of space in the back for a compact SUV. The ZF 9sp you can occasionally feel it shifting stupid but for the most part it seems like they tamed its stupidity.

Great review. I've owned a 2019 Jeep Cherokee Limited with the 4 cyl. turbo, and now a 2021 Limited with the V-6. I think the V-6 drives much smoother, maybe not as fast 0-60. I also don't miss the hesitant in shifting of the 2019 4 cyl. or it was initial turbo lag...though I really suspect it was the transmission. I don't get that lag in the 2021 with the V-6. That is weird that there more rear seating space in the Compass!!! The phone storage on my Cherokee isn't good, as you note. I do like my 2021 Cherokee!

We own a Cherokee Trailhawk and rented a Compass and let me tell you, the Compass is NO Cherokee! Also...the Trailhawk with it's AT tires is the Best driving (non pickup) vehicle IN THE SNOW that I have ever driven. EVER!...AND at 53 I've owned a LOT of vehicles. It even Trump's both the TJ and JK I have owned. Impressive.

I work for JEEP IN US. The baby Cherokee and the Compass are good Small SUV. Jeep stands for Just Empty Every Pocket No such thing a a cheap Jeep. I RECOMEND THE Grand Cherokee or a JL wrangler as they hold value much better. As for cherokee and compass get the 2.0 turbo as they are fading out the non turbo and the v6 will be in the trailhawk models and only a handfull in 4x4 only model

Just leased a 2020 Cherokee Trailhawk and I'm blow away on how beautiful this SUV drives and handles, I Love it. I never cared for the Cherokee till they added the Trailhawk with all it's black out trim. I love the look of the Compass but I felt kinda cramped since I'm a tall man. The drive of the Compass is not as premium as the Cherokee and the center consul does suck. The Cherokee is quiet and smooth with a tight feel to it, I'm just blown away with how nice the Cherokee is.

Too many people I know have had too many problems with them. I drove many police cars in my time also. Didnt have no luck with them either. And yes old pintos were more reliable as long as you didnt get rear ended. All vehicles are made by humans and any of them can give trouble. One of the most longest lasting vehicles I ever seen were the ford mavericks and mercury comets they could take abuse. The heated steering wheel and seats is pretty simple to do. Very very simple. It anyone finds it too complicated then they probably have a lot more bigger problems considering using an I-phone is pretty standard stuff and is about a thousand times more complicated.

I tried out both yesterday. My complaint with the compass was it was slow to kick in on big hills being only a 4 cylinder, versus the Cherokee altitude Lux which took the hills like a dream, being a 6 cylinder. Traded in my Cherokee limited 2 years ago and I bought a Grand Cherokee. Having trouble fitting it in my new garage so going back to a Cherokee.

7:08 The compass has a similar 4wd system ... Say what? If you compare the two trailhawk models the Cherokee system is far more advanced. The Cherokee TH has a "real low range" along with a rear locker, the Compass TH ... ya, keeps you in first gear for a fake low range lol. For more challenging soft-roading, really bad winter conditions or even boat launching on steep/wet/slick launches the Cherokee TH 4wd system wins hands down. I do agree that more buttons and less touch screen dependence would be nice, like for heater controls, heated seats and steering wheel. The JL Wrangler has a nice "mode" button to cycle through the heat direction control, why is it not in the Cherokee FCA?

I was looking at a Jeep Compass trailhawk as I wanted to sell my 15 GMC Canyon and move into a small suv. I was so disappointed with the fuel economy of the jeeps 2.4l. My canyon was the 2.5l four cylinder. I averaged 10.4l to 11.2l per 100km. The Jeep from what I’ve seen averages in the 11s and after driving one felt so slow compared to my slow driving truck. My mother has a 15 grand Cherokee and it’s a fantastic suv but more then what I need but she averages low 11s high 10s with her 3.6. So literally the bigger engine and heavier car is better on fuel then the compass. Pretty disappointing. I’d love to see the 2.0t make it into the compass.

Here in Brazil, we have the compass S, 15% more expensive, in diesel, with lane keep assist, panoramic roof, adaptive cruise control, 7 airbags, blind spot monitoring, auto park, auto break, and so on. The compass has crushed the competition here, being around 10th spot in overall sales, above the Toyota corolla and wayyy ahead of the RAV4. In SUVs salles, 1st is renegade, 2nd compass and 3rd is nissan kicks

So as someone who owned a Compass, then traded in for a 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk I have a few words. 1 the 2.4L engine is abysmally slow. If you do anything over 45 MPH its not worth it, MPG's go out the window because you're flooring it to get up to any speed & passing is just a chore. However if you don't spend time at upper highway speeds the Compass is hands down the best small/mid sized SUV short of a Luxury. The Cherokee is a whole different beast. If you need the oomph or a trail ready model theres nothing that really compares.

I think the comment "big, chunky knobs and cheap looking buttons" is pretty silly. It's called ergonomics. BMW and MB buttons are plastic, all buttons are plastic. I own a 2021 80th Anniversary Compass. I am very satisfied with the interior especially considering the class of car it is. I want to be able to reach over and find a button or knob without looking down or fumbling. The ultimate example of "looks cool" that isn't functional is the Tesla. All the buttons and switches are stripped off the dash and doors, leaving you to navigate a menu, just to unlock a door.

The compass has more torque and is more nimble, almost the same amount of storage. I purchased a pocket seat gap filler for my phone and sunglasses which was an easy solution.

Cherokee was nice, I had a 2019 Trailhawk with the 2 liter, it was quick but the seat warmers and steering wheel barely got warm and I didn’t like the heated seats and stuff all in the screen..ultimately just got the wrangler because it will keep it long term, also it sucked in the snow compared even to my renegade and obviously my JL

The Jeep Cherokee has been continuously discounted for at least 2 years straight a the loaded one similar to this one would actually cost about $7.4k less. But watch out for the finance rate though coming with these rebates. A 1-2 year old gently used is a much better buy as there are so many on the resale market.

This guy acts as if no one is going to boost the crap out of a 4cyl turbo Jeep Cherokee. LoL. Also he forgot to mention that BOTH the 4cyl turbo and the v6 make around 270 horsepower. So it kinda comes down to what you want to do with it. Torque from turbo engines can easily be upgraded rather than torque from naturally aspired engines.

My 2018 Compass is junk .. at 18k they put a new transmission in .. and replaced two modules . It’s been in the shop for almost 30 days because they can’t figure out why the Check engine light won’t go off .. terrible car

QueenStasia FLY Yes, I think it is a good car. I haven’t had any issues with it. I think it is a feature packed vehicle for the price. I do believe it is a little under powered, but all in all, I believe it to be a good car and a great value.
