You sure got to have a powerful hanker'n to race motocross at today's prices. When I raced $2000 bought you a bike, gear, bumper racks or homemade trailer and crucial ancillary appurtenances. $2000 probably wouldn't cover new plastic for that KTM.

It's best to shop in Wheels & Deals or Craig's list for bikes these days, or be rich! Lol, Ive only had one brand new bike in my riding years, a 1988 kx80, got for my bday when I was 13, all the rest, and there has been alot, have been used bikes.

James Robert the msrp of a 1988 kx80 in 1988 was $2899. In today’s dollars, that would be $6315. The 2019 kx85 is $4300 by comparison. Dirt bikes were almost 50 percent more expensive in 1988!!,

Douglas Elliott the top of the line kx250 in 1988 cost $4600. This the bike Jeff ward won the championship on. In today’s dollars that is the equivalent of $10,015. The 2019 kx450f costs $9299. Bikes are not only cheaper today, but vastly superior.

No it's because the factory edition is always a preview of the next years bike, which is 2020. So though this bike is not a 2020, you can count that the 2020 will be the same, less the bling parts.

The Ktm "factory edition" is basically their normal next years bike. Since it's a 2019 "factory edition" it's the 2020 bike.
