Lexus missed the mark big time. They make a dying less popular sedan IS 500 V8, instead of a more popular SUV in the RX 350. Imagine an RX 500 with a 5.0 V8, 10 speed transmission, and Brembo Brakes. Instead we get an RX500h hybrid with a pathetic 4-cyl and battery to make a whopping 360-hp.

Does Lexus have a reason it shuts off when you open the door after using remote start
@PrimeAutotainment5 жыл бұрын
Brian Merrill they call it a “safety feature”. I’ve heard the main reason is from previous lawsuits to multiple manufacturers of people starting them in the garage and sitting in the garage with it running. Dumb people. Nobody can get in the vehicle without the fob and even if you start it with a child inside or something...they can’t drive it without the key fob either. So who knows. It’s annoying when it’s real cold or real hot and by the time you open the door and get stuff inside it’s cold or hot again already lol.
@donvito54865 жыл бұрын
@@PrimeAutotainment that feature was created primarily to heat up or cool down the cabin before you enter. I live in a tropical area so I normally start it up and allow the air conditioning to run a bit.
@craigsmith45185 жыл бұрын
@@PrimeAutotainment The thinking behind shutting the engine off, is to protect you from anyone who may lie in waiting when they notice a running vehicle with nobody inside. Should the would be thief wait to knock you out of the way and drive off with your vehicle once you open the door, it allows you time to high tail it out of dodge with the key still on your person. All while the carjacker is sitting in a warm car that is no longer running. You're safe. Car is still there and hopefully you're alerting authorities as to what just happened. The system is designed to take the edge off of the conditions in the vehicle while also priming the climate controls to be used immediately upon you entering the vehicle. You wouldn't have to wait for the car to warm up to get warm or cool air like you would with a cold start.

I like the refresh I have a 2016 f sport . I like the touch screen as the older model mine is annoying without the touch screen . I do think that Lexus should offer a more powerful engine option like a twin turbo putting out 450? 500 to compete more directly against Mercedes , bmw , Jaguar etc . I find this a bit underpowered . A 10 speed transmission might also help . Also my 2016 f sport has terrible front brakes . I do a lot of mountain driving and stock brakes are garbage . I will be going to some aftermarket upgrade brakes . Other than the above comments I really am impressed by my Lexus in terms of quality looks features etc I will very likely be trading up to a newer model in maybe 4 years or so . It’s my first Lexus I had Mercedes 2006 ml350 prior . The Mercedes was solid car but not that reliable lost the engine from factory defect at about 130000 miles Class action lawsuit in US but not in Canada . Service and maintenance expensive on the Mercedes Lexus so far hasn’t needed much . But still only have like 30000 miles on it . I did have bit of defect a little bump on the steering wheel which Lexus refused to replace/ fix . Also am noticing my heater fan seems to vary in speed not sure if this is normal ? Will get it checked no warranty left for the heater fan just powertrain warranty left .

I am not one of those who criticize everything just for the sake of criticism, but here I have to say for the size of this vehicle, and considering it's trying to sell itself as an SUV ( although to my eyes it looks more like lifted wagon), the trunk space is very low. 18.4, that's almost Honda Accord level space and that is a main stream midsize sedan almost the same length as this one and far lesser height. All in all, a good one but definitely not the best option once you start looking at options in the BMW and Mercedes comp, heck even a Hyundai Santa Fe in it's top trim puts on a very good fight.

@@beri232 I agree with you. The review of a facelift should be mainly what changed. What's new! Not necessarily discussing everything as if everything was new. For me what changed here are Improved infortainment system, grill (though I prefer the 2019 straight grill), the foot-activated tailgate, better looking LED headlamps vs clunky previous. They straightened all the clunkiness. The clunky fog-lights of 2019. I love the floating rear pillar. My love for the car started from the back then progressed to the front.
