I prefer the dial in the center console over the touch screen, so that point about not having a touch screen is a subjective opinion not a fact, i find reaching for the touch screen while driving an annoyance and less safe myself. That is my opinion. I do love the CX-5, and CX-30, both are fantastic and really feel premium to me when i test drove them.
@MrJuly1990ish2 жыл бұрын
Agree 100% with you about this touch screen BS, I prefer the dials too, easier to control, make adjustment and you can keep your eyes on the road. Touch screens really are not safe (more of a distraction, always looking away) when driving. I was thinking about getting a Ford Edge a year ago, but I got the CX-30 instead, glad I did and I love it! The deal braker for me, is when Ford got stuck on stupid by making their A/C and Heat units for the 2022 Ford Edge touch screen. The automakers need to realize, everything is not meant to be a damn touch screen!

Owning Toyota Tundra and Tacoma for a few years, I decided to check Mazda out and buy a Mazda 3 sedan to save on gas. Great choice. It’s a beautiful sedan and the non touch screen is perfect....reminds me of the BMW. 👍

Your totally wrong about the infotainment system, Mazda has done research in this area and have determined that the touch screen takes your eyes off the road. If you had to left your hand and see where to touch each time it's distracting. With the control knob, your hand can navigate all the screens intuitively. I have the same car in the video now for three weeks and the Android Auto works as well in the Mazda as any other car, and I find it's easier to control then my Totota with the touch screen. He's right on about the parking brake though.

Hello Steve, I did not understand your comment about the parking break resetting on each start. What do you mean?
@stevehammes4 жыл бұрын
You see it more and more often these days that the parking brake will automatically set each time you turn the car on. It’s electronic. But with Mazda you really have to press the gas hard to override it without releasing it manually. Which makes the car lurch. It’s very annoying and can only be disabled for each individual drive. It will reset no matter what you do each time you turn the car back on.

The large black plastic all around the suv is a deal breaker. Please bring the Skyactiv X to the United States.

Yeah. A little heavy handed with that. I guess they had to cut some corners to deliver that MSRP.

I’d love Skyactiv X (it’s coming later this year) but when it comes it’s only in the 2L engine and will have less power than the 2.5L - which is only just enough. Maybe there’ll be a 2.5L X version someday, and I will just dream that they’ll add a turbo too.

Thanks for a great review of an interesting car: Will really test the idea that there is no limit to this segment of the market, both because it will compete with the 3, and because there’s already the CX-5 and (for now) the CX-3. Unfortunately, this car falls into the group that is an absolute no-go for a guy who isn’t super tall (only 5’ 10”), but loves to sit bolt upright while driving. Sat in it in showroom and had to jump right out. Maybe a height-adjustable seat and a sunroof deletion would have helped. Same deal with Hyundai Ioniq. Glad you liked this one a little better, after the disappointment of driving that 3 sedan.

Thanks, Andy! I really liked the SUV-like setting position but that’s a super-subjective issue.

I got it and wish I got the Cx-5 instead. I had it at the dealer twice. First time I had a Cx-5 as a rental. They said they couldn’t find the issue. Mazda corporate called and had their technician come in and found the issue in 5 mins. Had the car at the shop for 2 weeks. Faulty part. Not what I expected from Mazda seeing as how this is my second one. Waiting to see if Mazda will take it back and let me exchange it for the Cx-5. Overall not satisfied. Can’t trust the reliability and the driving dynamics aren’t there. Feels dull
