2020 Mercedes GLC Off-road (GLC 300 d 4MATIC)

Mercedes-Benz has released the pricing for the new GLC 2020. Prices for the SUV start from £39,420 for the GLC 220 d 4MATIC Sport SUV and £44,045 for the GLC 220 d 4MATIC AMG Line Coupé. Powering the baseline GLC 220 d features a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which produces 194bhp and 400Nm of torque. This allows the variant to be able to sprint from 0-62mph in 7.9 seconds and has a 134mph top speed.
According to Mercedes the vehicle can also achieve 40.9 mpg on the combined cycle and emits 137 g/km of CO2.
For the Coupe variants you can get slightly better mpg, 41.5 combined mpg, but emits higher CO2 emissions of 145 g/km.
The GLC 300 d is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, which has an output of 245 hp and 500 Nm of torque.
It is noticeably quicker sprinting from zero to 62mph in 6.2 seconds (6.6 seconds for the Coupé) and has a top speed of 144 mph.
Its fuel economy and emissions are slightly worse though delivering up to 39.2 mpg on the combined cycle and emits 157 g/km of CO2, while the Coupé can achieve 39.8 combined mpg and emits 159 g/km of CO2.
The GLC 220 d 4MATIC SUV is available in Sport, AMG Line and AMG Line Premium trims, while the GLC 220 d 4MATIC Coupé is available in AMG Line and AMG Line Premium trims.
The GLC 300 d 4MATIC SUV and Coupé are available in three model lines: AMG Line Premium, AMG Line Premium Plus and AMG Line Premium Plus Ultimate.
Entry level ’Sport’ level term cars come as standard with MBUX multimedia system with ‘Hey Mercedes’ voice activation, mirror package, Active Parking Assist with PARKTRONIC and reversing camera, 10.25-inch touchscreen media display, 5.5-inch instrument cluster display, heated front seats, privacy glass, Agility Control Comfort suspension, and 18-inch five-triple-spoke alloy wheels.
Upgrading up the trim levels dos sportier elements such as AMG suspension, allows and body styling as well as extra technology.

Why is that? My C300 4Matic on a groomed course can do the same things. ;) Put them in the real world on non groomed courses and their limitations become un-impressive.

Is it with the off road package or just standard suspension and electronics setup (no hill assist etc)? And what tyres is the car on? Regular all season OEM tyres or something more off-road-ish? Would rather trash this thing than a G-Wagon. Expense wise. Obviously this course was perfectly groomed for the approach, departure and break over angles. In the real world it would not be nearly that easy.
