Love my R53 Cooper S, bought it as a runaround when the M6 v10 was regularly in for warranty work. Decided to keep it long term, that was 3 years ago and it’s stealthily modified now. LOVE the GP2 and GP3, class machines!

I find it funny when people say the new Minis are too big because these cars are tiny compared to the other hot hatches like the ones that Honda makes now... my Civic Type R FK8 was literally wider than a Jeep and nearly as long as a Honda Accord. Driving the Mini JCW GP3 is a breath of fresh air for me, compared to Camaros, Mustangs, Chargers... etc it's Mini... lol. I am in the US so I guess we don't have a ton of hot hatches to choose from. The Mini JCW GP3 is a BEAST of a car, pure brute force in a hot hatch... the only true assist the car gives you is the ABS and the automatic transmission... everything else is pretty much up to the driver the torque steer and tramlining on power is fun, dangerous but most of all FUN and gives the car character.

I picked up a 2011 Mini JCW in a stunning colour combo and spec. The GP was over double the price and for me didn't offer me much more. I wanted the rear seats so couldn't justify double the price for not much more at all. At least with the GP3 you do get much more for your money.

The 1,6 Ltr engine on the gp2 is a worry with timing chain decoking engine clutch problems all very expensive an you really never know when your going to have a drama great drive fantastic handler but bit of a worry

I had an R53 and R56 variant of these. They made a lot of very masculine men uncomfortable, especially Volkswagen drivers. Toms original video of the GP3 at Geneva was what drew me to this channel. Fun cars with plenty of road presence, but a tad unreliable. The R53 was a rust bucket. I expect the F56 is a much better car now that a lot of the gimics are gone from the Mini.

Oddly enough all 3 GPs are half baked the, GP1 has a couple of changes to a regular works and some of it was R56 parts bin like the rear arms, but it was e only one tjj on get a proper LSD. The R56 Gp2 the most focused with 135i 6 pots, semi slick kumhos from the factory, adjustable suspension, proper aero with rear and front diffuser, but no proper diff..... but the GP3 , utter shite, the F56 lost all its Mini handling and the GP does nothing to make that any better apart from bolting some crap addendums on it, no mechanical LSD and an auto box🙄

Some good advice there. Diversity is always a good idea - income streams, investments, assets, savings. Putting all of your eggs in one basket is rarely the safe option as it can only take one major crash to wipe out the lot. Obviously not everyone has the reach or capacity to diversify that much, which is where mitigation comes into play by taking less risks, reducing exposure to risk and maintaining a higher ratio of solid savings and rainy-day funds.

For me the R56 is the best generation JCW out there. New ones are too big. My father had an R55 clubman JCW and not much could out handle that car on the track. Also, it's curb weight is stated as 1100kg but we had it on the scales once and it was only just over 1000kg

Yaa I'd aggree if everyone decides to sell everything at once of course the market will be flooded, but their is also the concern that if things get even worse and even more people start flogging stuff down the line values of things could even be worse, very difficult but ya I wouldn't at this stage jump. One thing I'll say is keep a very close eye on China, because behind the scenes a lot is brewing, so bringing manufacturing say for storagi (damn forgot how spelt doh) back to the UK might is a good move! I have a sneaking suspicion things may explode between ,usa,UK, etc and china so ya just be wary probing deals where china is concerned!
