@@seanmcintyre5148 I always have my car fob and the t12 remote on me if you activate your cars stock alarm with your regular fob the compustar alarm will not activate but if you use your t12 remote it arms and disarms both alarm systems basically you have a stock alarm that everyone has and an after market alarm that if not armed you won’t know it’s there but if armed it controls both systems it also has its own speaker and sensors so if a person gets to some how turn off your cars alarm he still has another alarm system to worry about . I also recommend a good quality steel steering wheel lock.

Don't do it if you drive a vw I just paid 1500$ to have one installed and am still required to carry the cars original fob and the new one together...and if you lose them it will cost you 1200$ for both new ones and to be programmed ...just go dealer installation route it works out to be cheaper in the end

1500 seems a bit steep, however it fully depends on the vehicle and location. And of course you'd need to carry the fob and your cars key. This fob doesn't replace the cars key. The one from the factory has many limitations mainly the distance it works from.

I visited my local car stereo/car alarm shop and they have pamphlets for Drone Mobile and Computerstar. What is the relationship between the two? Are they the same company? Do you have to have both? Can you have one without the other? Confused...

In the current 2 way line ups you get both when you buy a 2 way. You don't need to use both but it works well. The drone is the phone app and the remotes are just remotes. Drone will cost you a monthly payment or yearly but you don't need to activate it if you don't want to.

You don't need speed/throughput with Drone kits. This misses the point entirely. You want a newer Drone module because many carriers have plans to decommission their 3G networks. When this happens, your kit stops working.... Practically speaking, many carriers have already started this process, so the kit won't just stop working all-together. It'll just stop working in more and more places until it doesn't work at all.

Unfortunately unless the shop has an old package or is willing the sell you one without the drone for less money your going to end up with the drone module as you can only get it with the drone now. Drone is super nice and you can get it down in price by paying by the year. Or since it's in there you will always have the option to turn it on and off month to month. So if you lock your keys in your car or need to track your car for whatever reason you can simply get a subscription and your good to go!

T12 is 6x the power (range) t12 is rechargable. t12 is crush resistant. T12 gets you a 3 year warranty. T9 is battery powered, no charging needed.

Yea it can be added. The only thing is remote start won't work well. Sonos recommend not getting that. But you can have locks and such added.

The t12 is a 3 mile max range. If I misspoke I apologise. For the smart phone unlimited range there is a monthly charge. You do not need to pay to use the remote. Only the phone.

Anton J Miller that i understood about the cell phone. The Evo Start2 that I had for 3-4 years, I did not need to pay any monthly fees, it was included in the package. And I had to remote above that. I rarely used the LTE except when I had to park a couple of blocks from my home. But again, with 3 mile range, I probably don’t need the network connection. Il just buy an extra remote in case.

@@chauffeurmarco gotcha. Yes the mycar or carlink does sometimes come with a few years of service for 100$ or some shops include in price. It was however a 3g service, not lte. The nice part is if you never use the drone you don't ever need to pay for it. You can also buy a spare remote if needed for very inexpensive (r3 or g15 can pair to the same antenna)

@@AntonJMiller there are no settings to set up for a remote its just a learn routine i have the programmer for it... so are you sure the t13 and t12 remote can be use with a stock 7900as with the stock antenna? all id have to do is learn it? i want to make sure before i go any spend a ton of money on it i was told by someone that a new antenna is needed and i belive the kit if its a t12 or t13 comes with the antenna ive seen pictures.. so im just trying to make sure

@@twitchuser3375 the reason I say some settings is because the proximity unlock and lock need settings changed. You should be able to just plug in new antenna and cycle ignition to program the remotes. The 7900as is likely a cm9 series brain so it should be fine. You should be fine all the way back to a cm6 series. But again I recommend going to a local pro dealer and having them do it all properly. There was a recall on the t13 antennas as well. Also as a side note. A t13 remote will pair to a t12 antenna with no swapping needed you just won't get the proximity features.

@@AntonJMiller i have the programmer i can just program that feature myself i installed the sytem myself i have auto window roll up and all the 7900 features auto start etc.. but wanted this remote for one reason first th ebuttons to arm are on the front i hate the ones on the side im always looking at the remote to make sure i hit the right one plus its weird.. and two the function my window roll down i have to hold 2 buttons then another one 2 seconds to roll the windows down or crack them and sometimes they dont crack and sometimes rool down instead.. so i want to have the f key so i hit that then hit aux channel 1.. see viper uses the same thing f funtion channel to enter function mode then select aux channel 1 or 2 where as aux is part of truck pop and aux 2 is part of the start on my remote so i think theres issues with the remote not seeing that even if you set up in the programmer like i did where it sees trunk as aux 1 so this is whty i want it so i guess ill buy a t12 then as long as i can use the same antenna i have now its the fm antenna that came with the 7900 you program with foot on pedal and 5 key turns so its more simple than dei.. but then again more weird at the same time im used to dei stuff i bought this because it was cheaper so i guess il just buy the remote itsself and bypass the other stuf fit comes with if i can get one seperate that is.. or one from you? about how much for a t12 remote just the remote? oh and on the 7900 there is no proximity lock and unlock in the features unless i missed that one ill have to look at the manual but i dont rember any feature like that

@@twitchuser3375 you would need the full kit of going from the t9 to the t13 or t12. Because you need the SS antenna. You would need to reach out to your local pro dealer for a price quote. Unfortunately I cannot sell you it online, in store with install only. And no they do not currently sell replacement t13 remotes unfortunately. I'd go with the t12 kit for now, let them beat the bugs out of the t13 then get the replacement remote and program it to the system.

Not usually. But it is possible. I recommend checking for immo by wrapping key in tin foil and attempt to start it. If it starts no bypass needed.
