This video was helpful while shopping for the 925S this morning. I went into my local Compustar authorized dealer feeling confident after watching this video. After I was quoted a price $250 (this video shows a price of $399 which is a couple years old so I assume that was the reason for the price drop, I asked "how much would you charge for programming the panic and trunk buttons" since it is listed as an additional fee on this video. He said, "Its included, why would I change you extra for that?" 🤦🤦🤦 Lol

I have installed one, VERY USEFUL if you live in a hot state like Arizona. If you take public transit, and you drive to get to it, it is useful to start the car from while youre still inside the bus a few stops away! Come off a cold bus to a cold car, lovely!

I’m 62 and I can say it’s the worst one that I ever had. It doesn’t give me that 3 miles (5 km). In strait line. I get 450 metres max or 1500 feet which is less than 10% of what promised, and that, everywhere I go. The dealer said he’ll change the module but not sure that he really did because I got about the same range. Then, I got many kind of problems with it. After going over ten times for all kinds of behaviours, the dealer doesn’t answer to me anymore.

I would like remote starting, a better alarm than the factory alarm, a kill switch, and GPS tracking. I have a 2021 Lexus RX-350L and 2022 Lexus ES-350. I had their top system installed in my car and i was not impressed. They didn't use the plug and play T-Harnesses and told me the most basic features weren't compatible with my car like opening the door after you start the car and the engine keeps running. I went back they fixed that issue but all the other stuff like proximity unlock wasn't working. Long story short these guys did a puppy mill job on my car. I also had issues with my car after a tint job where the car would detect i was near it like it did before I took the car to them . Called them and they told me there is nothing they could have done to cause that. After some research I found some guys take the door apart when tenting windows. That is when I discovered they didn't put the car door back together properly. Ive had 5-6 vehicles done by Dynamic tint but will not spend money with them again.

The only problem with the keyless concept. It is a major problem. Especially for someone who values their vehicle. I knew someone at my high school who helped steal high end cars. He was chartered into my class. Smart guy. In all of the wrong ways. What happens is that you have a single frequency to both unlock and start the vehicle. At that point, it is easy game. Too easy. A high tech security system is good to have. One with a GPS tracking unit integrated. An aftermarket one will do the job (if hidden correctly). ((A physical, cut key with a transponder chip is the best security that you can have.)) If you want to go even further, get a manual transmission! They are so rare, that no young thug will no how to drive a manual. 👍🏽

Any issues installing any of these into a hybrid? My Lexus' engine will shut down once the batteries are full and at operating temp, so I don't think the heater/AC would be running for long enough to make a usable difference if I installed a starter.

I wish i could find a good push button start system with a good alarn and keyless entry and everything... theres so many junk china crap systems these days that its hard to make a purchase because i dont wsnt to end up with crap. Haha. My older xcalibur system has a reach of 1 mile and idk if I've ever tried it a mile away but I've been parked at the furthest spots from the hotels and on the opposite end of the building and it starts my truck everytime through all the concrete walls and etc.. and I worked on the pipeline when I was younger and I've been so far away I couldn't barely even see my truck and it started so I can only imagine how much these systems have improved given my xcalibur system was in my truck when I bought it 9yrs ago haha..

Just bought myself the compustar dc3 so it was just an remote stater/keyless entry. I paid $100 for just that. $20.00 for the hard wiring kit, some car have a t harness which is plug and play. Then adding the alarm kit I paid $45.00 the keypad entry I paid $30. And for the drone (phone start/tracking/lock/unlock) I paid $100.00, and 30 bucks for the programming cable. Compared to viper, I prefer the compustar yes you are paying more for alarm+ optional add ons but it's worth it, very easy to wire in compared to other systems.

I bought a Viper alarm/remote starter for my last new car. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied with Viper do to the poor quality of the main remote that has bad cracks all around the outside edge of the remote. I glued with crazy glue but it is no longer holding together. It should have a metal edge around the entire outer edge. It looked like it std but they are tricky in fooling the customer. It is painted plastic to look like metal. I resorted to the one way remote but can not tell if doors are open or closed. Plus.. my car continuously remotely starts accidentally because of poor design. I paid about $650 and will never buy another Viper product.

Compustar is great, but I wouldn't call it the best. I sell and install them at my shop too ,but I like omega products better, I've always had better luck with omega . Compustar in my opinion is way over priced when you can get the same features on the omega products for half the price.

Ha why cant I find anything on Compustar GPS? I called a place and they said u can just buy the GPS portion of the newer T13 set up as theres three componets, the security portion, the report Start system and the GPS portion. Found a place that sells all the compustar stuff and he said it just takes a different ribbon to hook it up by itself since it would usually hook into the report start unit portion of it all. Id just like to see a demo of the GPS on you tube. Many people just want GPS TRACKER and dont care abt the starter shutoff feature that most banks require.

I've had 9 other 987S with the stock 3.4, best thing to do IMO is let car warm up 30-60 sec until Idling revs drop and then drive accordingly to the manual - not exceeding that rev range. *The only politically correct advice I could give you, is to follow what the manual says, just be careful
