@@vvvvel Who took 10 years to catch it? There were family sedans that could keep up with the GT-R on the strip as early as 2014 and they costed less (The Tesla Model S P85D is an example). As for actual supercars and sports cars, there have been many that could beat the GT-R right off the showroom floor for similar or less money. The C6 Corvette ZR1, the gen 5 Viper, the Rossion Q1, and many others. The Nismo came at an even higher price tag and only offered marginally better acceleration. There were cars that could compete with that too. The GT-R was an impressive car when it was launched. 0-60 in the low 3 second range for $100k was scarcely heard of. But, just a few years later cars appeared by the handful that could offer the same thing. Instead of taking the time to build a new car that wasn’t near 4,000 lbs, Nissan continued to just add a bit of horsepower every few years in attempt to keep up. The fact that the nismo is now over $210,000 means that it loses to pretty much everything in its price range. The likes of the 911 Turbo S and various models from McLaren offer better all around performance for the same money. When cars get long in the tooth, it is only reasonable for them to maintain price, or at the very least, only increase in accordance with inflation. Nissan has raised the Nismo $35k in price since last year and it hasn’t gained any power or noteworthy features.

The GT-R has to go down as one of the most significant cars of the last decade. It set the standard that others worked very hard to beat. Most of them have surpassed the GT-R, even in NISMO trim and at a better price point. The cool thing about the GT-R when it was introduced was its performance vs.cost ratio. At slightly under $70K for the base model, it was an immediate superstar. Roll the calendar forward 10 years and it is basically the same car at more than three times the price. Too expensive! I used to own a 2010. I paid $75K for it then put another $80K into it for a full engine and drive train build. Ended up with 1000 HP at the wheels. It still drove like stock on the streets, but could run the quarter mile in a tick under 9 seconds at over 150 MPH. Point being that you can buy a used GT-R, put another $100K into it, and end up with a car that will run circles around the NISMO and every other modern super car for less than this thing costs.

Please Nissan, let this car go out gracefully and with dignity .....it used to be such a focused vehicle that improved to as good as it could get with Misuno San as chief engineer, but since his retirement this car has actually gone backwards and lost focus as it begs for a redesign. In the meantime, it’s being beaten in performance by certain high performance station wagons (E63S/RS6) and even some SUV’s and random other cars (M8, Urus, etc). Charging $212k for this version of the car that barely moves the performance needle at all despite the extreme cost is just laughable.

Ironical to call the GTR an 'analogue dinosaur with antique electronics', when it came out it blew everything out of the water just because of its state of the art electronics.

Ironical indeed

0-60 mph in 3.3 sec???? And the quarter mile in 11.4??? Believe me,it's much faster.

I was fine with this review until they quoted a price of $212,000 dollars. To many options out there for that price range.

I think Doug DeMuro would make a video of this car and explain why this car shouldn't be worth 212K

A C8 Corvette will outperform the "GT-R" for HALF the price!

I didn’t realize they still made this car. Looks good but old.

11.4 1/4 mile and 3.3 0-60. All these years and barely any quicker. The latest Porsche 911 turbo did the quarter in 10.2 seconds.

Or a Shelby GT500, fully loaded, for less than HALF the cost!

I don't really think anyone would call the R35 GT-R "analog"...
