@@lawrencecobb2107 I really don't think that as a whole, people even realize what AI automation is doing and will continue to do to the job market. With few exceptions, anyone who drives people or packages around, works in the food and beverage industry, makes or assembles products, or teaches at a school will very likely be out of a job within the next 5-10 years, and a computerized "robot" will be in their place. I believe that currently, it is estimated that at a minimum 40% of American jobs will evaporate with automation. With most of the positions being blue collar, it is going to divide the haves and the have-nots even more severely than it currently is. Yang may be the only presidential candidate addressing it in this election, but everyone will be forced to discuss it in 2024. I don't know why this issue is not any real attention from the news media. All I can conclude is that the masses must think it's some far-fetched, conspiracy theory or that it will be several decades before it begins. It's been going on for a few years, but with the somewhat recent leaps and bounds in AI technology, companies have already begun building and installing the needed infrastructure to support the automation (ie, at the entrance of apartment buildings, sensors are being installed). @Lawrence Cobb , thank you for letting us know that Yang has spoken about it. One would have to have their head in the sand, to not know that the ..."very fine people" qoute is never presented, in it's entirety. The mail in vote, was for one reason; to harvest low information, and usually un-involved voters. Democrats' pretty much concede to the dead vote, and we can assume the multi-vote, and illegal, and non-existent voters. Those are not really disputed. We are supposed to have one person, one vote. There are many witnesses who have reported seeing ballots being handled inappropriately, and others, who had witnessed machines hooked up to modems! If the ballots, and machines are released, we would know 100% what ballots were mailed, folded, or of different paper. We can know , with 100% certainty,if the ballots, and machines are released! That needed to be repeated. So, why not look at an election that is highly suspect? @WhyWeCantHaveNiceThings Thank you for the compliment. The more you pay attention, the more you notice. I've been watching these debates and LISTENING to what each one has to say. I personally am not the biggest fan of Gabbard because she used fear tactics as one of her closing statements in a previous debate, when she was talking about how there was no shelter in Hawai'i when a nuclear alarm sounded. I'm not the biggest fan of Cory Booker either because although he is eloquent in the way he speaks, I feel like he tries to hard to appeal to the populace's emotions. He has some idea on what he wants his policies to be, but I am yet to hear any details in his plans. I only hear him talk about his goals. I like Berney Sanders because he has detailed plans on how he's going to tackle major corporations and drug/oil industries and make American lives better. Elizabeth Warren I like too because she wants to invest in education and childcare which in longterm, can really improve the lives of the American people. I think Joe Biden is okay. I like him because he has experience and scares the shit out of Trump, and he has described in great detail about his plans for his policies. I have mixed feelings about Kamala Harris because she just seems fake. She knows her policies and what she wants to change for this country, but everything she says seems too rehearsed. I feel like she plays the cards that she has up her sleeve, in winning the political game. Even when she tries to show passion, it comes off too me as an audition. I feel like SNL did an accurate depiction of her in their skit. lol I am interested in Steyer. As a billionare who put a lot of his money towards fighting to improve our environment, I like that. And him saying that he can call out Trump on his failures as a business man, and Trump having no choice but to listen to him since he too is a billionare sounds like something I would like to see. But I won't vote for him because of that. As a citizen who puts the majority of his funds towards rent (I'm living in a motel right now. That shit is expensive), I am really leaning towards Andrew Yang because of his UBI policy. I have had a couple of weeks where I literally had to starve myself at work because I couldn't afford to buy any food because all of it went towards rent and travel. If I had UBI, I could use that money to actually be able to afford a down payment for an apartment and start paying off my student dept. UBI can really improve a ton of lives. It doesn't take a genius to understand the positive domino effect UBI can have on America as a whole. Depression goes down, crime rates go down, suicides go down, poverty goes down. Those conservatives who always speak against helping the American people with their expenses have no faith in the American people. The majority of us are just honest, hardworking people who are trying to get by. The amazing things we can put our UBI money towards. I would actually have the resources to donate to charities and travel. I could thrive, not just survive. I honestly hope that EVERYBODY who watches these talk-show interviews LOOKS at the comment section, because the majority of people here are able to see through the bullshit of the media. Andrew Yang has a HUGE approval rating, but the media doesn't report it because they want Warren to win. They're pushing for a woman president, just like they did with Hillary Clinton. WhyWeCantHaveNiceThings - if you were paying attention to Benghazi you should be aware that the email issue and the security issue were two entirely different things. The email issue was latched onto to mess up her pending presidential run, which it obviously did. The security aspect was dealt with in multiple hearings with two clear points that helped her case. 1) the GOP cut security funding to embassies. 2) when it was time to react to the attack, the Secretary of State office is NOT involved in scrambling troops. P.s. the Nazi’s were no more socialists than North Korea is democratic. We saw which side was marching in Charlottesville with neo Nazis, shouting about fire and blood and we saw which President thought there was fine people amongst them, so don’t even try to put that mindset on the left.

@madcheeseknight Look at his website for more details. Clearly all you know is what he's said during the debates. He did the math, he knows what he's doing, his solutions can cause a domino effect that can really improve the lives of everyone in this country. I'm willing to pay more taxes if it goes towards UBI, which can pretty much solve the poverty crisis, drug addiction and criminal activity. It doesn't take a genius to understand that UBI can be a really good system for this country. With UBI, if you're smart with your excess money, you can use that to invest in your local community, education, charities, activism and your retirement plan.
@RamonLovesRockandPie5 жыл бұрын
@madcheeseknight You're using the same talking points conservatives used to speak out against Food Stamps. The majority of Americans are hardworking people who are barely making it because of the housing prices that have gone up and the low wages they make. Why do people buy lottery tickets and booze in the first place? Because they are depressed. Why are they depressed? Because they are a victim of the red lining marketing scheme and can barely survive with the money they make. With UBI, a lot of lives can be changed for the better. People like you have little to no faith in the American people is the reason why we never get anything done to improve the lives of those who live in this country. Again I encourage you to read Andrew Yang's website to get in more depth of the details of his plans. You're over here criticizing Yang's policies and you aren't even tryna get to know him. Also don't call me "buddy". It's rude. ;)
@soccerfreack925 жыл бұрын
@madcheeseknight I think those are a lot of valid thoughts and ideas. The problem with the current system (as I see it) is that it doesn't encourage upward mobility. We supply SNAPS benefits and housing vouchers in a way that means it's possible to get a raise at work and then wind up losing your SNAPS benefits and ultimately making less money or even losing your housing. Sure, eventually you might be making more money, but, if you're a single parent, this could mean you can't really get by anymore. You can't care for your kids, you won't make it to the place where you are making more money because that is a few years off. And you might have to do this while trying to find a new place to live with less money. This creates a disincentive to move upward (assuming that upward mobility is actually feasible). A UBI would mitigate this. You are getting that money regardless, so getting raises doesn't actively hurt you. Second, I think you're ignoring the other possibility that more people would start their own businesses. If I had a guaranteed $12,000/year, I would be much further along in my business because I wouldn't have had to wait so long to go full time/had more money to invest in the growth. I firmly believe that we should be helping people find jobs, but I don't see how that means we couldn't also have a system that doesn't punish people for success. This would also help cut down on all the bureaucracy surrounding the social safety net programs.

His ideas are so old he said in an interview the other day “I want to pick up where FDR left off.” Literally a quote. I would never consider Warren and she will definitely divide this country. I’m an independent so I am not saying Andrew speaks to people who are super liberal. What I’m saying is maybe it would be better if we went forward we could pass some legislation that mattered. I don’t believe either of those candidates you speak of could pass anything. Just like Obama. (Who I voted for)
@Matt-ww9wv5 жыл бұрын
Sorry, but uniting isn't possible in this political spectrum. The best option for average Americans is progressive policies that can inspire Americans to fight for more. Trying to unite with centrists/republicans is how democrats lose again or worse, win and achieve nothing because the two parties are the same. Yang is a decent candidate. He has critical weaknesses in his two most important policies as well as lack of experience to the point where I am not sure if he will be able to maintain his policies without manipulation. Any progressive policy, which at least UBI depending on how it is paid for has the potential to be, will require educated average Americans to fight for it. Can Yang inspire the working class to fight for UBI? I don't know. Regardless, Bernie's plans are superior for average Americans so I will vote for him.
@cookingclassics5 жыл бұрын
Matt I believe we have shown what going to one side does, nothing. How does his 15$ an hour help someone who makes more than that or has worked hard to get good healthcare. You aren’t going to win every seat in the senate or the house. So how does he pass such obviously left policies when half the country at least would t want that.
@Matt-ww9wv5 жыл бұрын
@@cookingclassics Going to one side does nothing? What are you even referring to when you say that? Trump? Trump and most establishment democrats are not all that different on policy. You van look into the savings associated with Bernie's plan for healthcare. It's better for the average of all Americans making up to like 120k. They all save money and would see the same doctors. As far as the minimum wage increase, it's just a superior policy as far as benefiting Americans more with a greater net of money overall without being susceptible to inflation or predatory pricing to the same degree as Yang's plan. UBI would help me more, and it is something I would like Americans to have, but still it's not meaningful enough considering all the variables if you're voting with the intent on voting for the candidate with the policies helping Americans the most. I really wish Yang was single payer, that would make him significantly better. Unfortunately, he's not so his healthcare plan has less than zero credibility, it's failed before.
