Sir good evening! A little doubt I had (or perhaps I found an Insurance loophole lol. Thought I'd just ask my expert, aka you instead) Tata Altroz XZ(O) is priced at 7.75lac, with around 8.75lac on road price. If I 1. Opt for lower IDV (5.6lac) But 2. Get the "Return to Invoice" add on. Will that function fine? (Because Return to Invoice add-on will fetch me the total amount in case of total loss despite the lower IDV) Will that be okay or am I missing something here? Thanks in advance for the advices tho!

I have booked an ertiga vxi in chennai on dec 07 2020 by paying booking amount of 11000/-. And made full payment of 921385/- (being price of exshowroom + rto charges) on 30.12.2020 itself as per the dealer's advice to avoid price increase in jan 2021. Now I'm getting information that I will get only 2021 model and it will be of new price. some times ppl who book in December will be given a price hiked car in January. that too 4% hike,now imagine the cost. Get stockyard cars if available not more than 3 months old and close the in voice billing before 31st December,you will get it more discounts and you can take delivery after jan 1st also infact 'delivery current price' will not effect coz you already finished the billing officially.

The major thing is that in year end you can get better deals compared to year start where you could end up paying more in case the company increase the price which is usual now days. Resell value should be considered however if you are getting a better deal in December then go ahead with it.
