at 10:12 we were confused with the Carens platform, hence, after rechecking with some more sources we got to know that the internet is divided with the b/w K2 and K1, platforms, some sources claim that Carens is based on the k1 platform while others claim the k2 theory, for now, we believe the K1 platform is more closely related to carens due to its Price Placement.
@johndavidson3424
@johndavidson3424 4 ай бұрын
Wrong, sources can be wrong on Google if not researched deeply well. Carens is K2 platform as it's a recreational 6/7seater car based on Sonet like car that comes under K2 platform not K1.

Biggest scam alert ???! You are the right person to raise voice related to this. Why e20 fuel price is equal to normal fuel price? Is there any scam by petrol pump owners ? I agree farmers may get benifit. But if it should be min 5rs less than normal fuel, people will go for this. It should be profitable for both farmers and users. Now looks only petrol station owners making profit ! Please make a detailed video related to e20 milage, performance, benifits etc. Also question about its price and raise your voice to bring the change. Thank you !

Exactly, you have mirrored my thoughts on Hyundai/Kia. Hyundai Kia are the only mainstream brands that understand what customers want. The way they do things is just exciting in a way which you don't feel from other companies. Hyundai and Kia together clinched three of the six World Car of the Year awards, late last month, all while undercutting their competitors. The Kia EV9 won both World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle awards, while the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N was recognized as the World Performance Car.

He also has the benefit of being easily able to acquire original spares and have them fitted by the local mechanics when the car is older/over warranty. Also, Volkswagen owns Skoda, its not a partnership Hyundai owns Kia, same. Nissan owns Datsun, Renault owns Dacia, and Renault Nissan are actual partners. Same with Suzuki and Toyota.

True, Volkswagen owns skoda. But they are still standalone brands. VW owns a lot of brands, similarly FCA owns most brands in Europe and GM owns most brands in America. So even though dodge challenger and Chevrolet Camaro are owned under same car group, they are essentially competing product lines. Service experience does differ. If you buy a TVs 310rr you have to go to a TVs service centre. If you buy a BMW 310rr you go to a BMW service centre. But you'll also me paying alot more for the experience.

I don't know why it has to be a see-swa strategy, where this strategy will help sales and new customers but it will down the image. They do have ALOT of cars that are suited for Indian markets. Toyota the world's biggest car co. we are talking here. Instead of see-swa, a straight win win situation can be achieved. Like Mahindra did by focusing on SUV and not on mileage (India's top priority). Anyways, I/we are not the sellers. They might* know what they are doing.

The perception of the Indian customer to etios and yaris is the cause. With high government taxes. Thats why I think maruti and Toyota collaborated. Yaris and etios are very practical cars and Toyota did a lot of stuff themselves before releasing these cars into the market. They would have spent millions to develop these cars .ive heard that the Japanese themselves came to India to study what the market wants. They did this in the US and thats how they became no.1 there. But in India the total opposite happened. The market backstabbed toyota. Toyota is also partly to blame because their advertising and designing department was behind compared to other manufacturers, but their goal was practicality over everything. In the end, the market has changed, emission norms, safety etc. and building cars more suitable for customers requests are slowly on the decline. So because of the maruti and Toyota partnership, toyota has two options...copy Maruti suzuki , or introduce their own models. But if they introduce their own model,maruti will copy sooner or later. It can cause toyota some losses. So i think they r trying to play safe. Observing the maruti model becoming a success, and then releasing their rebadged model in the market is safe for them

I purchased a Glanza G-Hybrid in 2021 and a Baleno zeta was purchased in my family just a couple of months later. The difference in after sales and service experience is night and day for the past 3 years. Toyota technicians are somehow more superior when comes to fixing issues in a product made by Maruti itself. They're way better informed and sophisticated due to handling much more premium products for years. Plus the sheer numbers of sales hamper the service experience as Maruti service centers are almost always crowded and you find yourself to be lost in the crowd and unanswered. On top of that toyota offered superior warranty as standard 3Y/75K Km as compared to maruti 2Y/40K Km....That's just my perspective based on my personal experience. We should not just outright bash the company for rebranding but also look if there's a better deal for us in there.

Good content .. you should have explained the 4 different type of sharing between brands 4. Last minute logo swap with no changes aka maruti and toyota 3. Logo swap after car development for increased sales like renault / nissan from dacia duster 2. Joint development from start of product development like vw and skoda for vento or kushaq 1. Platform sharing with complete different product development teams who try using part from same bin wherever it suits them aka vw golf and audi A3. To add to this there is difference between perceived quality between brands. Expected quality difference in india between Skoda and vw is minimal. People who are buying toyota and getting maruti are cheated big time. That is what makes that ' sharing' bad for consumer and disastrous for company in long run

Good video. The only collaboration here is between Toyota and Suzuki all others belong to the same group or are owned by each other. 'Brand' is just a marketing differentiator; you can see it in different products and very often sitting at different price points. That atleast is not the case in cars. The reason Toyota has taken this approach is they have been unsuccessful in the small/budget category, they simply cannot manufacture & sell competitive models in that category. They have tried and failed, so instead of burning more money they have adopted this approach to capture this market share. No loss for the Indian buyer as the models you speak off would have never come or would have put all of Toyota in the same category as Honda. To me there is not much of a differentiator between Hyundai and Kia, save the set of features they offer. The 'car' as such feels the same. Personally I would not rank them as its the brands prerogative, if it doesn't suit the customer then the models (and this strategy) will fail

Problem is Japanese and Koreans also are treating India like a mass market... not bringing their top quality products. The Americans did the same and had to say bye bye... now only hope Ford has learnt a lesson and makes a strong reentry in Indian market with their Mustang and Everest

0:35 Correction :- Hyundai & Kia is "NOT" a tie up, they're related in a way that Hyundai is the mother company of Kia & Kia cars are basically derived from Hyundai, more like Toyota & Lexus rather than Toyota & Ind Suzuki in India.

Totally agree and brand like Toyota must do something about this because we want to buy a Toyota design international product not other brands products from their showrooms and these copy things run only for 1-2 year than people start buying other brands

Škoda is owned by VW group and Kia is owners by Hyundai. So it’s not very surprising that they’re rebadging cars. Suzuki and Toyota are competitors so that’s really surprising.

How car manufacturers are creating arficial shortage of cars by giving waiting periods of years on lower trims of cars and what measures should be implemented on manufacturers

Totally Agree. Platform Sharing does indeed give a wider scope to the manufacturers to develop better features and aesthetics of the car. Rebadging on the other hand gives less space for the creativity although being cost effective. Toyota should bring in their RAV-4 to the Indian market and Hybrid to the fortuner. Waiting to see what Suzuki would do with these 2 models.

The rankings you gave actually make sense because: 1. Kia is a subsidiary of Hyundai. 2. Skoda is a subsidiary of VW. 3. Nissan & Renault, both have 15% ownership in each other's company. 4. Finally, the Suzuki & Toyota... The Japanese twins are just lazy. (Though globally, Toyota has about 4.9% ownership in Suzuki & Suzuki has about 0.2% in Toyota, it's not exactly significant in our market)

Both need to fix their own stuffs first. Or they need to partner with brands who don't have mechanical fault like: Toyota, Suzuki, Mitshubishi, BMW. You Know Force Moters? Study about them and their collaboration. The only Indian Brand which I know for their best collaboration and most trusted engine supplier for Audi and BMW.

Hyundai owns Kia and VW owns Skoda. So we should just consider these as one company and not a collab between two companies. Rebadging of cars under a parent company has been happening since a long time. We shouldn't be surprised by it.

1st would VW/Skoda partnership because they have made a great comeback with the 2.0 strategy... People don't understand the R&D and engineering behind the German brands abd rgeir reliability and higher cost of ownership stories have forced people to go towards Koreans

Also, only Toyota and Suzuki have a proper partnership. Rest 3 pairs are owned by the same parent company or are co-owned by each other, this is similar to the case with Bajaj and KTM

Sorry, if I'm misinformed but Kia is owned by Hyundai, bought out in 1998 and similarly Skoda in 1991, by VW. They are not partnerships like Suzuki and Toyota but are extended groups owned by parent companies.

I live in Croatia and I know about these things quite well. I don’t know about it much from Indian market perspective because I have never experienced it at all so I will only say things from the European market perspective and what people think of these joint ventures. You will hardly find Suzuki cars here so forget about ToyotaxSuzuki partnership. And Toyota have all these cars like Yaris, CH-r, Rav4 etc. Renault is not a stable company and they don’t know what they want! They launch cars and discontinue them within few years. But they made great mass consumer centric cars like Talisman, Kadjar etc. Infact we were looking for a sedan and Talisman was our best bet but we didn’t go for it since it’s discontinued. The quality issue for this partnership probably depends on the market and also its more of a Nissan problem than Renault. New Renault cars even that’s coming out of the joint venture are getting praises for being well built and use of premium materials. We bought the Renault Clio 2022 and it rivals Germans in every department. Such a lovely small car. It’s pity how India don’t get this car. It’s the best small car in the market beating VW Polo, Škoda Fabia and Toyota Yaris. It’s also cheap unlike the Germans. And ŠkodaxVW collaboration isn’t a big deal here. VW is so big that it’s more like they own Škoda rather than they are partners. But people believe Škoda is a better purchase than the VWs because they are now literally making the same cars with different badging with just slight design changes. And what VW does is it being the leading company, the new techs and features first come with their own cars and end up with Škoda so by the time the features are put on Škoda, the flaws will be corrected and fixed. So people here say that VW is for enthusiasts while Škoda is for wise people.

Bilkul agree karta hoon. Toyota aur Suzuki ka JV sabse bekar hai. Aage peeche badalke baaki same rakhe hain jo kuch acha nahi lagta. Renault and Nissan ka JV ab acha ho gaya hai, as pehle jo type ke gaadiyan aaya karta tha ek jaise the, jo kaam nahi karta tha India mein. VW Skoda ki gaadiyon mein side ka profile hi similar hai par baaki sab alag hai. Kaash woh cheez alag kardete toh acha hota. Hyundai aur Kia ka kaafi acha hai, as alag hai har cheez isliye.

Today, I had my second Honda Elevate test drive of the top model, the CVT ZX. However, I must say that it doesn't feel like a true Honda product; it only bears the Honda name. On rough roads, there is excessive cabin noise, especially in the back. The cabin is spacious enough and can be considered the best in its segment. However, the excessive noise is a major issue. The suspension needs significant improvement compared to market competitors like the Creta and Seltos, as well as accelerator noise while pressing the race pedal. I tried both slow and aggressive driving, but the result was the same. I'm not sure if the test drive model I used had specific issues, but I tried two test drives from different dealerships because the overwhelmingly positive reviews intrigued me. I have to wonder why the Creta and Seltos have had such peak sales performance. While I need a family vehicle for the long term, I don't want to rely solely on a brand name. I test drove the Hyryder, Seltos, Creta, Nexon, and Elevate, all in the petrol segment. However, I was disappointed by their price-to-performance ratio. This segment is particularly confusing for buyers in the 15 lakh price range. In my experience, the Grand Vitara is cheap market garbage for such a premium segment of 15-20 lakhs. I'm still confused about what to buy. If anyone has any good experiences with a good vehicle under 15 lakhs in May 2024, please let me know; it would be a great help.

There was a company called sipani motors in 90s that launched a car called Montana. This was a fiberglass bodied car which costed 10-20 K less than maruti 800. At that time, 10 thousand was a big number... Apart from that the usual drill of "swaraj or vocal for local" kind of stuff was spreading rapidly. The fiberglass body was like well, it was hard, but if you met with an accident, you'd have to chip off the entire part! Mechanical parts: just like Tata of today, the manufacturer imported different parts like engine, gearbox and electrical components were imported from different countries. Funny thing, they took turn signals, headlights and some other components from maruti Suzuki 😅 the result was that the engine was actually built by a British company originally for tractors, but was fit in this car, so the whole car shook like a vibrator. Also, it failed almost once in a month. My father was too excited at the prospect of swaraj thing and bought this car over maruti 800 in 90s. Due to extreme failure rate of this car and non existent customer service, most owners filed a PIL and eventually the courts ordered 50% of the cost to be given back to the owners. Promptly, most people gave it back, but my father was on another level of desi stuff. He retained his car. Even after the company closed, my father kept driving this contraption for 15 years!!!! Sipani motors had a garage where they kept spares and it was like a garden sale. You could purchase based on your need. He kept purchasing the parts and shelling money to local garages to get the car in running condition almost every month. The car broke down numerous times on relatively longer trips like 150-200 kms around and had to be repaired and we had to halt in numerous unknown places just for the sake of the car. I was terrified and anxious all the time abkut the car breaking down even as a child. After mechanical parts at sipani exhausted, the local mechanics suggested to install ambassador and fiat parts! 😬 It's only in mid 2000s that my father realized his mistake. Even today he says never buy an unknown brand and especially if they are selling by exploiting your nationalistic emotions. He regrets and says he never experienced a single day of peace of mind ownership due to the horrible experience. He also says, only if he had purchased maruti 800 first hand which was just 10 K more, he'd have enjoyed the driving experience and did not have to travel by bus and auto inspite of owning a car. It's very easy to invoke nationalistic emotions in anyone, but performance is like mother nature... She doesn't care if you are good or bad, Indian or American, she just is and will eradicate the weakest. PS: eventually we bought a Maruti 800 in 2005 or something and this car was parked infront of the house, until the municipality ordered us the remove the car. My father sold it for 5000 to a local kabadi shop. Children would often use this car to play car-car. The car costed 1 lakh something!
