I forgot that any time I elaborate on "go rescue a dog" there are lots of people who feel the need to remind me that there are "good" breeders. That's your opinion. I happen to believe that humanity has reached a point where we have done TOO MUCH. There are just way too many dogs. We've created this problem, and not enough people are fixing it. So, no, I don't like any breeders and I don't understand how anyone can happily pay for a brand new puppy while healthy dogs are being euthanized. I get it... you want a cute puppy. Be better. Go rescue a dog. 💙

I agree with your point on rescue dogs, I truly do. I wish a rescue dog was something that would work out at as a service dog but unfortunately not all rescues can be service dogs. A lot of times rescues come with trauma that can cause them not to be able to function under certain conditions and fear biting can become a public hazard. Some rescues can be service dogs but some can't, so people who need service animals have to get them from a breeder to ensure that the dog does not have any history of trauma.

My parents adopted two dogs right at the beginning of the lockdown (They literally picked them the same day they brought me my kids back after spring break), rescues from a dog hoarding situation and one of them was heartworm positive. She's doing great now though.

I have two tripawds (three-legged cats!) who are very rambunctious and tend to not pick up on each others queues for when play time is getting too rough. Fingers cross that this helps them learn to read each other better! So glad that all your furbabies are doing well. This was such a heartwarming update.

My cousin owns a tibetan mastiff. They are huge and surprising friendly when you get the know them. But they are also really protective. If they are out, they bark like crazy once it's night time. Other than that, they basically sleep during the day time and loves to be around people they feel safe. So overall they are really chill dogs
@tamaradelsohn54933 жыл бұрын
I'm glad to hear that most everyone is doing well. Pip's case is a bit concerning, but I know you'll stay on top of anything going on, and make sure he lives as happy and pain-free a live as possible! I agree to adopt whenever possible. All of my family's cats are adopted. The three we have now are all from the same shelter, this amazing place with only a couple of local branches. But in the past we've also taken in cats from people who couldn't keep theirs anymore. (For example: our Chester, who passed almost a decade ago, we took in because his family moved and couldn't take him. There's also Noche, who passed about five years ago now, who was a street cat and the family fostering her was worried they'd hurt their baby. Ironically, she became super attached to me and my sibling and saw us as her kittens.)

My kitten (now just over a year) had a mild concussion a few months ago and ever since had very strange epileptic sort of seizures every now and then. Our vet also recommended a Feliway. She has become the most snuggly sweet cat and her and her sister groom and cuddle each other all the time now. Her seizures also are almost completely gone. We tested how her behaviour would change when plugging out the Feliway and she almost immediately became a lot more restless and looked kinda stressed. I'm so happy to know this seems to work for little Pippy as well!

I rescued 2 cats 5 months ago, their names are Kit Kat and Twix. Somehow they are both girls and get along fine too, and they aren’t sisters either! There is a man at my dad’s work who has a TONNN of cats in his shed. He sometimes put out a bowl of cheap cat food, but he lets them be for the most part. He doesn’t pet them, and absolutely no vets! He heard my dad was looking for a free kitten to keep rabbits out of our garden, and offered my dad as many as he wanted for free. The cats bred like crazyyyy. Me and my sister both wanted a different cat, so my dad reluctantly agreed to get 2. I wanted a calico with a patch of black on it’s back that was the shape of a butterfly, and my sister wanted it’s sister, a all white one. When my dad wen to get them, he only found mine and couldn’t catch the one we wanted if he couldn’t get the white. It scratched him so he let it go. But he found a tortoiseshell one who he caught. So he brought them home in a small box, but since they were only about 10 weeks old, they fit. He got out the tortoiseshell who hissed at us, and I got out my little calico. They looked small and sick, and hardly moved from the corner of the cat house we got them. (Did I mention they were going to be outside cats?) The next day, I woke up really early to check on them, and they were gone. We checked the whole cat house, then the whole yard, then the whole neighborhood, but they were nowhere! I started crying, I had wait 2 MONTHS for these cats, and now they were gone just like that! After a few hours, my brother yelled for me to come see something. Under the cat house, they crouched huddled together in a ball of kittens. I was so excited! Speed forward a couple days, the kittens were still in our yard, and even started to walk around. The tortoiseshell was a feisty little thing, I made her a cat toy and she swatted at it, with her claws out. But the calico on the other hand, had no interest in playing. Later that afternoon she threw up. I started crying again, I hate puke and I realized she was more sick than I thought. (Not to mention, it was July 4th and we were about to leave to see fireworks!) We couldn’t take her then, so we left. I wasn’t crying because I loved her that much already, I was crying at how she would most likely die, she had her whole life ahead of her, and I adopted her for what? To shatter my hopes and dreams of having a cute calico cat by her dying at 11 weeks old? I don’t think so. A coupe days passed, and all she did was sleep (she most likely had a fever). Finally, I persuaded my dad to take her to a vet. The vet was packed and couldn’t fit the poor scrap in their schedule. But they did all they could, they weighed her, gave her food, and a diagnosis, she was dying of a upper respiratory infection, that could kill her at this young if not treated soon. We called every vet in town, even some from others, but no one could see her. I was about to start crying again when we tried one last vet, they said they could see her that evening. I was so happy! They gave us medicine, and flea treatment for them both, but said not to be surprised if she didn’t make it. I prayed and prayed, and gave her as much attention as I could, and sure enough, she made a full recovery! Now, she is my sister’s cat, after getting to know the tortoiseshell whom we named Twix, I fell in love with her, and now she’s my cat, and the once sickly calico, Whois name is Kit Kat, is my sister’s. They will now live long and happy lives with my family, and i’m so happy Kit Kat caught my eye in that picture of her I saw the day she was born, she could be dead right now, but instead she’s living with me, having a better live than that man could ever give her or Twix. Thank you for reading this if you made it this far, I hope you found Kit Kat and Twix’s rescue story interesting! If you read this Stacy, if you left a comment, (which I would appreciate a ton) I would probably scream and faint 😂 you were such a huge part of my childhood, Page and Molly love you, go rescue a dog! "You're going down, Pip!" "No, YOU'RE going down, Polly!" This made me laugh so much aha Also, I agree with what you said about breeders. Yes, there are good breeders out there. but there are so many rescue dogs that need our help. I was at the Humane Society the other day, and there were lots of dogs there. The good news is, a worker there said dogs only stay there an average of 9 days before they are adopted. I know it is not like that at all shelters, so it is important to do our part in helping animals. Sadly, we did get our dog from a breeder, but I was really young when we got him (and im the dog person in the family) so we did not know much about adopting dogs. Also, please never, and i repeat, NEVER, adopt from a Pet Store unless you are Positive they get there dogs from shelters. A lot of times they get there dogs from Puppy Mills, and that is a complete other story. Anyways, my point it, please do your research and make sure you are adopting from a good place :) (this is really long aha thanks for reading if you did :))

I don’t have any questions but to help people who are looking for a pet and live in Illinois there is an amazing organization called Riley’s Rescue . I got my oldest dog which my family has had for 4 years from there. She was in a puppy mil and Riley’s Rescue went under cover to save her and her sister from an auction. They saved others as well. I highly recommend Riley’s Rescue. Sorry for the long comment but I wanted to mention one more thing, Stacy you are such an amazing owner to your pets and an amazing KZbin and I hope you never forget that.

My favorite part of the whole video was 5:08. Poor Stacy had cat hair all over her laptop.😂
