Hey Stacy, social worker here who has been working with caregivers for almost a year now! You are an incredible individual for even taking on that task. That is one of the hardest jobs someone can do and the fact that you did it for two important figures in your life speaks volume on your character. You did what you could and thats all they could have asked from you. You're amazing! Love you! Been a fan since 2014

Commenting a bit late... but I know what you mean Stacy! I live in a magnificent home that I am so lucky to be in. Old Victorian house built in 1870s. 3 story, 5 bedroom, 5 bathrooms, a guest house, garage, and a bell tower... on 7 acres about. It’s beautiful, it’s amazing, I am so grateful. I even love the location, the town, how close my family is to each other, how close work is.... yet at the same time, location is one of issues at the same time. I live in the high desert at the base of the mountains. So I don’t get a lot of greenery... I wish I could magically grow a forest of tall evergreens all around my house. Yeah, I could plant some, and have, and will plant more... but, I’m picturing and wishing I had the property this place will turn into for future generations. Still amazingly grateful to have what I have, and I’m not complaining at all. I just understand the wish for more evergreens lol

oh the stairs, here's a trick I used, I bought a box of bird gravel, fine white sand really, and embedded it in the varnish on top of each tread. Looks gritty, catches a bit of dirt, but scrubs easily and you get the wood look.

We have 16 acres on our property. Most of that is woods and we don’t use that part much unless we wanna go walking in the woods. Our neighbors that live near us think that because we don’t use it they can for hunting. Last winter we found red spray paint on some of the trees and even some pink tags when we think they ran out of paint.

I actually thought this was really interesting! I would never live in a cabin personally (I'm a little paranoid about the woods), but I think I understand wanting to bring back the natural, homey feel. My family isn't big on design or decorations, so it's nice to see how other people decorate and design their homes. One day when we're able to make permanent changes, I kind of want to paint my walls a sea green :)

I agree about the wood floors that would be beautiful. In the bathroom you could do some kind of beautiful tile. I love what you have in there now but definitely understand why you want to change it. Have you tried any of those professional cleaners like CLR or something like that? Unfortunately there is always regrets and projects for all home owners and you learn as you go. Stacy you have worked hard for your beautiful home and deserve to fix it however you want. I don't think your complaining. I think your doing what we all do. Wishing and hoping to someday make your home exactly how you want.

Loved this! Didn’t sound whiney or anything. I loved hearing the things you’d change and I’m currently helping my parents renovate a house rn! I helped my dad renovate a house he wanted to rent a year ago as well. It’s such a fun process. It’s super fun, but also very difficult since we do it all ourselves! It’s nice to know what you’d change. Whenever you do begin to change these things, I hope you vlog it! I loved your videos of this cabin when you were renovating it! As for the pebbles on the shower floor, we were told to not go that route. We live in the country and have well water. Maybe you can buy a small thing of concrete and mix it per instructions and just...apply it on the chip! 🤣 You can paint it to match afterwards.

This was definitely interesting, I think it's alright and important to talk about some of the drawbacks to different aspects of your cabin home. This is also a home you live, work in, and will have for a very long time so whatever makes you feel better and more at home is what's important. You said multiple times in the video that you're such a whinier but it never felt that way to me. I think we can all look at things with rose-covered lenses, with social media definitely contributing to it, and it's refreshing to have some of the reality of things back in. I'm not sure if I would ever get a cabin house as awesome as they are but this video still brought up great things to think about. Also, it's been a really bad week for me and your voice is so calming, I could listen to you talk for hours, plus I liked the longer video length.
