Why 3:90 ratio in my opinion they should be at least 4:11 ratio for heavy hauling

When you order a truck with a Cummins, you can get an RPM graph from them where it shows the powerband. 3.90 is at the bottom, 4.11 is optimal and 4.30’s is at the top end. @65 MPH 3.90 is 1524RPM 4.11 is 1599RPM 4.30 is 1676RPM Peak torque is at 1700RPM for a 565/2050 X15.

the autos cant handle the torque output I belive

Because they would suck ass in a heavy haul application.

Manual transmissions are considerably cheaper (up front) than automated and Allison's. It's not that they can't handle the job, it's just because so many operators look at what they can save up front without looking at long term savings/potential benefits.

What is the def tank ?
@mikewhipkey68635 жыл бұрын
Sohail Bundah it stands for "Diesel exhaust fluid" after the 2007 model year all diesels sold in the USA are required to have a "Diesel particulate filter" to filter pollutants from the exhaust and store them until it reaches a certain amount then it uses the DEF to burn up the stuff it captured... That's a quick and unprofessional statement... The "DEF" is basically an Assinine attempt by the Government to reduce "pollution" but in reality it just makes things more difficult for people that make a living in trucking... pretty much like what the Government does to everything it touches..
