Please forgive me for posting a video with such an abrupt ending! (Sleep won over re-recording.) It is Monday now, and I am using A6 sized dot grid. The experiment begins. Thanks for subscribing!

I honestly cannot wait to see a flip of that Hobonichi cousin Amanda!! It would be so strange to see you in anything other than a standard, but I would love to see how you make an A6 work for you. Love, love, love your videos. Always so inspiring! Hope the move is going well x

Thanks Daksina for all your encouragement! Part of me feels bad leaving my standard, but I think it is time to try something new!

Thank you for sharing! I loved seeing your systems and how intentional and functional they are for you, and your connection to each cover. I appreciate seeing how you’re testing out a size before diving straight in. Can’t wait to hear how it ends up going!! 💛

Thanks! Me either! So far, it's going well. Thanks for showing up in such a great way this month!

Thank you for sharing. The A6 Hobonichi is my all time favorite and I cannot go a year without one even though I’m in my B6 Stalogy. I would love love to watch some videos of how you use one. Much love.

Donna! I love the English version and your consistency. (I think I need the Avec.) You are one of the few people I know that are using it. I may have questions for you soon!
@BlushnBlue3 жыл бұрын
@@InkImperfections I love the Avec for the portability because my Hobonichi can get pretty chunky which then makes it difficult to tote around..lol. I have to have the English because I like having the whole year in one area. I also prefer not to have a division line that the Avec has.

Your work planner has me realizing that 2021 is the year I **REALLY** need to become better about keeping track of my CEUs. I'm an RN licensed in multiple states, with different requirements and renewal dates. I have multiple certifications I need to track/renew as well. It's a mess and my way has never really cut it. That size may be good to trial, as I could keep it in my work bag too. I also float to a different department (where we don't get updates on things, just "Hey, did you know you did this wrong??" 🙄🙄) so that could be useful to keep notes like that in there as well. Not to mention the 50 different charting and work programs, how to access them, etc. Wooow. 2020 has made us lose our flingin flangin minds. Me trying to get organized and you changing from a standard size TN!! Excited to see if it works for you!

I saw your IG post before I got a chance to watch this. I keep thinking that the Weeks Mega might be a good fit for me and then I remember that I don't do well with thin paper (love the idea but it doesn't fit so well with the way I write) and I think the hobonichi grid is a bit too small for me. The paper and cats inserts have the perfect dot grid size - the dots are just the right darkness (I'm using an alternative with a darker grid rn and I hate it), they're not so tiny as the hobonichi grid, and I prefer bright white paper. I realized after watching this video that I could grab one of my old hobos and try writing a list on a blank page to remind myself why it doesn't quite suit me. The quotes always bugged me too, whether I could read them or not.

I love Taylor's dot grid! Without having the Cousin for homeschool already, I would be hesitant about the grid. The quotes are probably my least favorite feature. Okay, if I need someone to walk me back away from the A6, I'm coming to you! : )

@@InkImperfections I am still tempted to get an A6 (day free? idk?) to fit in my purse though, so you know... maybe don't trust me to pull you back! lol

I love seeing all your planners! 😍 I'm also kind of facing the same dilemma where my current planner (Moleskine) is working really well for me, but the Hobonichi Weeks keeps calling my name. 😂 Same format, but smaller. It would be soooo much easier to carry around. But I already bought my 2021 planner, so I think I will give it another fair chance. I might just cut up a TN insert also to give the Weeks a try.
@InkImperfections3 жыл бұрын
Hobonichi just makes tempting products! They are well-thought out and almost always appear well-loved on social media. The Weeks is small - too small for me! But I used the same layout in my standard and even personal rings. I love cutting and trying before buying!

discovered your channel late last year, love your videos! you made me wanna switch to the TN size so I made a "dummy" notebook to see if I would get used to it and I love it. But now I wanna switch and I feel guilty about leaving my half-filled A5 behind! I'll see what I'll do. It's a bit cute how we assign feelings and emotional content to bound paper :)

I was in an A6 stalogy for over 3 years, figured I could do the hobonichi A6, nope , I felt like I was choking, it didn’t give me the room to move because of the dates. An undated notebook gives me room to use as many or as few pages as I need. I did get a hobonichi day free but it doesn’t have enough pages so I’m using it for my collections. Good luck to you. Love your covers. Stay safe.

I do love my dot grid too! I can absolutely understand that feeling and am a big proponent of dot grid for this reason. Just a new season of life for me, I think, where I need someone else to write the dates. Ha!

I can understand the interest in switching sizes, sometimes it’s good to change things up to make things interesting. I just used an A6 Hobonichi as my journal for 2020 and I love the compact size. That being said, I’m actually moving up to the A5 Cousin for 2021. I’m already a bit worried it will be too big. Either way, it will be fun :)

Kim! I have missed you. I hope the move wrapped up smoothly and all is well! I will always fondly recall when it felt like it was just me and you, rowing that standard TN boat together, year after year! We will see how this change goes and if it sticks. So nice to hear from you!

I love what you did to test out the A6 size! I actually ordered a standard insert from Penguin Paper Co so I can test out standard before buying a cover from VDS. 😂 Want to do a temporary switch? I’ll send you my A6 stuff and use your standard to test out TNs! lol, love your videos as always.

Hahaha yes! I hope you love the standard! It truly is a great size for many. And same, I will test this out for awhile before ordering a covering - probably from VDS! : )

Almost all my personal size inserts are from Paper + Cats on etsy. I also have some personal size from Perfectionism Prints printed at 109% and placed in my standard TN. Hope that helps. I always recommend to double check the measurements in the listing description when shopping. www.etsy.com/shop/ThePaperAndCats www.etsy.com/shop/PerfectionismPrints

Have you thought about the day free hobonichi? It has months and blank pages, but not weeks or dailies.
@InkImperfections3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, but looking at the page count I worry it would last the full year for me. I feel like the Avec is the best choice at this point anyway. It is a neat option!
