Hey you all, we enjoyed your year end video! Since you are starting to think about a garden in the desert I have one tip for you..... 50% shade cloth! No kidding. We built a shade/greenhouse this year and found that plants LOVE 50% shade cloth. It was astounding how much they love it. So my contribution to your projects for 2021 is to invest in a lot of 50% shade cloth. Enjoy and you all stay happy and healthy. Lou & Bill

Yes! That’s what we’ve heard to. Add the shade cloth in the spring and summer and take it off in the winter. :) thanks for the tip!

You did great with your first year on your property. Plan big. but remember to break it down into manageable, measurable, steps. The dome solar shed is a big project, but each layer is a measurable and manageable step. Planning one or two courses a week is doable, but the whole building in two weeks is NOT. Set the END sights high. BIG Garden for the future, but little manageable areas, that can be joined later is doable. I look forward to watching your progress.

Do you still get the cows? It would be cool to see these cows. You are all so brave to be doing this! Love all of your courageous efforts. Such a beautiful family. I enjoy all your videos.

We only had one calf make it’s way through while trying to get to his mom. Other than that, no other cows have made it in. We still see them on the street and close by.

You guys are the cutest couple ever! Well, this is only the second video I've watched so I've not got to know the kids yet. But I love your family already!!! Been watching the family that does dirtbag homes and can't wait to see what you guys have planned!!! Oh, yeah, you gotta fence the areas off from the cows!!! I lived on 20 acres in Tennessee and before we put our fence up I was scared to leave the house many times because of a bull in the front yard. It was our neighbors bull(we only had about 20 cows). He broke the fence down between our property and the neighbors every time our cows came in heat. Benefit: we didn't have to keep a bull and the neighbor was nice about coming and collecting his bull and we just roughly fixed the fence!!! lol! Oh well, back to the video, and enough about my farming days. bye!

Enjoy watching, but build a very large metal roof over the caravan both front and back all at once to give better shade and collect rainwater too? U can still take the caravan out if u want to use them again, better than separate shade stuff, taking so much time and energy. Lovely family, u got.

Do you think they will keep the opt out zoning option? We are thinking of buying land there but I dont want to get stuck with it if they change the zoning before we can get there which might be later in this year (fall). I heard some other people talking about the zoning could be changing.
@TinyShinyHome4 жыл бұрын
Great question. Someone just asked this in a local Facebook group, and one of the people on the board said it's not even something they're talking about anymore. Obviously that could change, but for now no news is good news.
