Review of the Renault Kwid Climber, had the car for the past five days and here are my thoughts of the car.
The car comes with a 1.0L Engine producing 50kw and 91Nm of torque.
Beautiful Stylist car very hard to fault it.

@@Facelessshwashwa yeah, it is a nice car that offers you good stability if you cruise it straight on highways at 80-90kmph with a very amazing fuel efficiency too. You won't lose confidence in any way. Hope you can decide well to be behind the steering wheel in it. 😅

Hi, thank you for the video! Very insightful. I just wanted to know, will this car be okay for a first time driver who needs to commute between MP and FS. Around a 6hr trip?

I have this car too. Wasn't my choice but ended up with it, long story and expected nothing but misery but I really like it now. Pros are it's light on fuel. Number one pro. It's one of the lightest petrol cars if not the lightest, atleast at the very top. And it is. Another is it's small. I think the dimensions are about the smallest you generally get though not certain. So that I do believe affects easy of driving in urban city environment. Infact I've spoken to others and I'm certain it does. Small cars are very nice to maneuver around. This one a surprisingly posh colour in person. Ofcourse if you wash it right. Cons are. It's a womens car. Maybe a little less gender biased than the swift but bottome line is a car is a car especially in this range where you're purchase under tight constraints which is what every kwid or datsun go owner is. You don't buy this car to look good in. Which bring me to the point about the climber. I'm torn between whether it's a pro or a con. On one hand it seems counter productive to buy a cheap car thats cheap on fuel and then choose the most expensive version of it. Seems like a suckers buy. On the other hand, the parking sensors, and reverse camera which I'm not sure if they come in other version now, make a world of difference when parking, especially for an inexperienced driver. And one that nobody mentions is it's damn small in the seat. For a large or a tall person you might really want to test drive it for a bit and think carefully about it. I just simply cannot fit laterally and I'm not even large framed, just tall. But my shoulder is always pressed against the wall and my ass rests to one side of the seat, I cannot center my body in it. This is the biggest gripe I have. But this is south africa we put up with allot of shit, a small seat is a piece of cake.

@@SwitchOffSouthAfrica Yeh it's been a year now and 40k km and it's still going nicely. Some things I didn't mention. This is not at all ideal for long trips. Very good for small trips. Reason being that the car is very unsettled at freeway speeds with any cross wind. That is a speed at or above about 100kmph. Also the car as with many in this class also has terrible safety rating so you do not want to be opening the throttle non the highway. It's like a uno. Finally the engine being a three cylinder engine is inherently unbalanced and it can never be perfectly balanced which is part of the reason they are so noisy. Which means they don't like high rpms. At a 120kmph I think it sits on 4000rpm. At 80 which is my ideal cruising speed it sits at about 2500rpm and the real time fuel economy gauge as far as I'm able to tell seems to agree with this cruising speed. Being as light as it is, basically half the weight of a normal sedan, it's very good for Urban driving even with the small engine. If you're the only passenger. So I always tell people it's kind of like a motorbike on four wheels. The pedals are not normal. I have driven a few cars, I'm not totally greennto driving. Some new ones some old ones. Some utility ones with extremely heavy clutches. This car is the hardest car to drive. Ironically. Given that it is aimed at new drivers! I mean the clutch in the manual transmission. I can barely describe it except it feels like it has two biting points. And if you too easy on it it revs high and if you catch it too much there's this painful click clack that feels like the engine or transmission is bouncing around. By far by far the clutch in this car is the most difficult I've ever driven and I'm still trying to perfect it. Not even close. The transmission is fucking shit. I do not engine brake which is actually a normal part of manual transmission driving. I don't do it because when I do there's this metallic noise that comes from the transmission specifically in certain gears, and at any load, even just taking your foot off the gas lightly on a flat road. And it sound like metal find rather than steel teeth. When you grind the gears, which if you own a manual transmission, you will do no matter who you are, you will be surprised by the sound. Again it will sound like metal fins. The reverse gear ratio is wrong. It's just fucking wrong. Like it doesn't fucking work. When you own this car you will become used to reverse parking down driveways to avoid having to reverse up. Some cars have their first and reverse gears equal in ration. Some first is higher. Some the other way around. Who ever designed this cars transmission made a damn mistake. On any significant incline, with no passengers, to make it up involves revving the engine as high as you would normally take it and dancing around with the throttle and clutch to avoid the horrendous clank noises it's going to make once you actually engage it. In other words, to make it up any hill backwards, you got to burn a little clutch. Or turn around. That reverse gear ratio is a damn mistake. No two ways about it. Many normal to large sizes people would greatly appreciate a vertically adjustable seat. Other than all of that I can't complain.
