In 2003 at the NPM convention (National Association of Pastoral Musicians), we had a concert across the river at the Basilica Cathedral of the Assumption in Covington (with it's 3 pipe organs, a small Wicks, the main Aultz-Kersting organ and an 1859 Matthias Schwab that was moved to the cathedral when the original church it was in was going to be torn down, Going from there to Christ Church Cathedral and listening to the former organ there was quite a shock. This new organ is so much better (and I think they improved the look of the room at the same time.) Thanks for highlighting this.

I like the stoppers held in place by threaded rod! I just borrowed the idea to fix a the bottom octave of a 16' Bourdon on a 1939 Kilgen.

A problematic building for sure. I remember it as a sterile mid-century room from my days at CCM (not an organ major, but an Episcopalian). For some reason, i thought the old instrument was a Holtkamp? I assumed the problems were more with the room than anything else. That said, I'm impressed with what is shown here! Probably the most aesthetically pleasing insides I've ever seen. Lovely craftsmanship!
