Very easy to have a competent jeweler brush the center links. Only a bad idea if you're interested in your watch's resale value. If you know it's a keeper, alter it as you wish.

@@dhirajp4u1 First off, on on their regular customer list which probably helped. I've made other jewelry purchases besides watches as well. I bought a blue date just back in November when I got tired of waiting for a Skydweller. In December I older her that I would be interested in the blussey, but around April. Much to my surprise a few weeks later she called me and said she had one and wasn't sure if she would see another one in April so I pulled the trigger on it and bought it. I just saw her a few weeks ago and it looks like I have a Kermit coming my way; I told her the end of the year would be great, but if one shows up, I can't turn it away. I've got a bad habit going on.

The previous 40mm Bluesy had yellow/gold lettering on its dial face. The new 41mm Bluesy has all white lettering on its dial face. Also the new Bluesy has the Rolex Crown just below the 6 o'clock bar located right between the words SWISS MADE. The older model does not. I just bought this new 41mm Bluesy. It is my all-time favorite Rolex watch. I own many other Rolex watches but this is the one I wear the most.

love the bluesy, but my guess is the old maxi case would give better overall balance on the wrist with the maxi case wider lugs, but interested to try this on (which is impossible!)

Love the 2 tone Sub Bluesy and its really the only watch you need for all purpose wear. I do prefer the discontinue 40mm Bluesy though.

That is correct. Is the first generation with ceramic dial, solid 18 karat gold links, sapphire crystal with the AR inside not on the outside where it can be scuffed or scratched, lighting Glide clasp and gold ticks on the dial not white printed as your new one does. By the way it is also discontinued now with the Maxi case.

Wonderful video as always. I have the first generation 116613lb the bluesy that came out with the first ceramic bezel, AR coating on the underneath of the sapphire crystal, solid links, Glide lock system on the clasp and the now-discontinued Maxi case. The differences that I see with the newer model bluesy which are all the newer Submariner models the same as I also purchased the new black on black Submariner 126610ln is the same as the 126613lb is that it has double AR coating on a sapphire crystal underneath and on the top side which is subject to scuffing or scratching. Also instead of having gold applied text on the dial as the previous-generation it only has white painted on applied texts on the dial. And those lugs seems it was just thin out from the inside going outward by the bracelet on the top so it's basically the same.

GP? Only if I'm getting it used and at a seriously good discount from the original retail price. GP is one of those brands you should NEVER buy new from an AD/Boutique. And personally, I'd never pick GP over Rolex, but that's just me.

I like GP but I imagine in 20 years time a daily worn Gp will look battered but a 20yo Rolex looks cooler. That’s my main attraction to Rolexes, they’re made to be worn daily and it doesn’t matter when they get beat up. They can handle it and look good. I love the Laureato for instance but after a year or two it would lose the refined polishing and I wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing it on the beach or over the football in the same way as a Rolex.

Sorta tired of the Rolex/Patek hype but was offered a new all yellow gold bluesy and couldn't resist, bought it at list. Will check back in a few months for a comparison.

A shame as Rolex make solid reliable steel watches that suit my lifestyle better than many other brands but when you take the price, wait and ballache of getting them into account it’s too much hassle a lot of the time. I’m on a wait list for a couple and when I get them I’ll be happy but for now I’m happy with my manual wind Grand Seiko and speedy pro. Love the GP Laureato but especially in gold it would be a bit much for where I live and work (Hackney, London and a charity/hospitals!)

It is a great looking watch and better proportioned than before but I cannot justify its price. It’s just about worth it retail, just! But grey market cost seems extortionate. You’d really need to be a super fan to pay that kind of money when there are plenty of high horological alternatives that you could have that are better in every conceivable respect for the money.

Even if said downturn does come, i highly doubt that the luxury watch industry (something that a minuscule portion of the population indulges in anyways) will really receive that big of a hit. I really think you guys overthink just how many people buy $5k+ watches. Most of those people have the wealth to survive a recession with little to no effect. Hell, I wouldnt be shocked if a brand like rolex had secondary prices increase in value in a recession considering how well they've shown to be a store of value for decades at this point. Over the summer the unemployment rate reached 16% (highest since the great depression) and rolex prices kept soaring. Your weird fetish for rolex's demise isnt going to come true for you, sorry
