I'd honestly take a GT350 over the GT500. The price is insane and I really do think manuals are more fun than DCTs, I don't care about the numbers. I would rather take a slower car that is more engaging than take a faster but more computerized car. While I do not have a car with the level of performance of the GT350 or the GT500, I can tell you that I used to have a stage 1 (COBB) 2014 Focus ST and I currently do have a stage 1 (livernois) 2015 Taurus SHO. My ST was much slower than my SHO, but I still think it was much more fun and engaging just because of the manual transmission. If I had the choice, I would sell my SHO and buy another ST, but the resale value of the SHO where I live is very low unfortunately.

I have my 2016 Magnetic ST1 and love the thing to death. Finally got that damn sound symposer deleted... New dream car when I pay off the ST is a GT350; hopefully by 2025 lmao. They may not be some fancy pants fast in a straight line dodge with 700+ HP but where can you use that kind of power anyway. I like cars with a true drivers experience rather than something that is a bullet on the drag strip.

The 2007-2014 GT500 started the push for horsepower IMO, especially the '13-'14. 662 horsepower. 2013 and making more power than a 2019 Camaro ZL1. Yes the 2020 GT500 makes less torque but I think they did that on purpose to make it hook up easier like the GT350

Mason Marton In my opinion, the car that started this, 15-16 years ago, was the SVT Cobra, aka "Terminator". It blew everything up, 390-hp Supercharged 4.6, epic. Sure, back in 2003/2004 there were no Camaro or Challenger, so no other pony cars to face it, the competition was a bit different, mostly the Corvette on GM's side, and Dodge only had the Viper, rated higher at 500 hp, vs the Terminator's 390-hp SC V8. Then the GT500's rebirth in 2007...and the rest follows up from where you set. Fingers crossed to see if GM will have the guts to put the LT5 in the Camaro for a last 'hoorah' and also see if Dodge will come up with something new against the GT500's track-focused nature...

The digital dash was def on purpose. The mileage on both of them 1964.5 is the year the Mustang first came out for. Plus the gear and mph numbers were the numbers they were beating from GM. 460>455 (GT vs SS) and 760>755 (GT500 vs Vette ZR1).

Until you realize the new Rustangs torque and horsepower-weight ratio is much worse than the SS and ZR1's, causing it to have slower lap times. Also the Demon can still kick its ass on straights ;)

Regarding the red eye, the power to weight is in the GT500s favor, and with a faster shifting transmission, I have little doubt it will beat it, then turn around and drive to a road course and then beat ZL1s. The GT500 will be an all around performer.

after it comes in with a better power to weight than the redeye, fanboys will be saying that the redeye actually dynos over 800HP. Which then I'll tell them that the GT500 dynos over 760hp So even if power to weight was dead even, which it wont be, but it will be close, the DCT shifts in less than 1/2 the time as the ZF auto. The GT500 will be a heavy road course car. The 275 HP LESS GT350 beats the widebody redeye in lightning lap by 8 seconds. Just think what the GT500 will do with 225HP more than the 350. All the while, going to a drag strip and beating it STOCK. Got to say, the GT500 is all around fast car. heavy, no doubt, but capable.

I sold my 2016 Hellcat and may get a GT 500 Shelby! It’s a beautiful vehicle and does it all very well! I used to own a Shelby convertible 2006 but the clutch used to burn up every 5 to 10 thousand miles so I dropped in a 2010 Shelby clutch and that solved the issue bigger and more robust. I think Carol Shelby would be very proud of what ford engineers have accompanied.

I have been waiting for over 3 years....and I feel somewhat disappointed. I'm a Ford guy but have wanted the Hellcat...and then came the Demon and I screwed up lost one that I should have pulled the trigger on....then came the Red-Eye. Father time has arrived and I don't think these older bones can get into the Stang, be comfortable, and by the numbers I certainly don't think Ford is quicker in a straight line...unless it comes in at about 3950 lbs. I love the car but I'm am not as impressed now that the numbers are out. I know I can buy one at retail but it will still be more than I can buy a Red eye at...and the Red Eye will be more comfortable, faster on the boulevard for my intended purpose, and I think before the years end while we all wait for this car to come out into the dealerships.....MOPAR will come out with another phenomena...and squash the GT 500's arrival with a new announcement. Just my take on it. Love the competition, it's good for us, the consumer.

There have been faster and more powerful Challenger releases, since then. Even *IF* Ford manages to put together factory built Mustang that can take on a Demon, on the track, it will likely be AFTER the Demon is out of production. I'm pretty sure you could buy a Shelby GT 500 Super Snake , that makes 850 horsepower about 10 years ago . Wasn't it street legal ? What good is all the power if you can’t put it down? Companies need to start building higher quality cars with balanced bodies to handle better. A new C8 will hit 0-60 faster than a GT500 with 250 HP less. A car that looks exotic, perfect balance, proven basic engine, and superb traction, a lot cheaper than a GT500.

Hell the 18-19 mustang 5.0's with the 10 speed automatic are running 10's naturally aspirated on a tire and tune with exhaust, and going 9's all day with an average blower setup.. so imagine what this thing will do

Norwegian Blue I had a GT350R and it had a peach of a NA motor. I sold it because of the build quality of the interior. They don’t have to match the European brands. They just have to do better. The interiors in their trucks are nicer..

Norwegian Blue It was one of the finest motors I have driven. But the car shouldn’t be 1000lbs heavier than a 911. And yes, everybody has a tolerance for quality. But it had fake plastic dash stitching, fake metal plastic trim, fender to hood gap was 3/4 of an inch off side to side and the center stripe arrived cracked and broken. And the dealer experience was atrocious. I understand your value point. I wanted to like it and I gave it a year. Thanks for chatting..

Actually, those dealer markups are for standard high volume vehicles. I saw 3 days ago as of 7/17/2019 the dealer markup for one particular dealer for the GT500 is 100% of Sticker price

We won't know exact engines, pricing etc until at least the unveil witch is July 18th. I'm guessing the base in an upgraded lt1 engine with 480-500hp named lt2, starting at ~$67k. sadly no manual just a good dual clutch. Maaaybe on the 18th as well, the debut of a hipo version. Rumors are a dohc turbo engine 750hp+ @ $100k

I have the first Hellcat sold in San Diego. January 19th 2015. Tomorrow I'm trading it in for a Widebody Hellcat Redeye with the 3.09 rear end. The Hellcat only has 5K miles on it. I only need to shell out about 50 grand or so for the Redeye. See you guys on the street! (Invest in a K40-G5. You'll save a boatload on speeding tickets it's worth the investment).

I can't wait to see the new GT500 do a sub 11 1/4 mile. It would be sweet if it could pull off a 10.5 and beat the ZR1, but i'm not holding my breath lol. I'm sure the DCT will help lots. I bet with the 10 speed, it would be in the 10's, so the DCT should knock it out of the park, i would think? I'm a car enthusiast, so although Mustangs are my favorite I still like and appreciate many different cars. I think it's ridiculous to bash any of today's muscle cars, just look back at the original muscle car craze when people practically worshipped a car if it was over 400hp, even if it weighed around 4000 lbs. If you're Blessed enough to own one that's awesome, if not just appreciate what they are capable of. I'm glad the big three are competitive because it's competition that drives each company to continue making their cars better. Thank God, the muscle car is alive, well and thriving. 😎🏁

Again. A Lot of people opted for the gm performance intake that puts the ZR1 at 772 hp and about 725 torque, stock factory add on. That's 100 more torque and 12 more hp than the gt500 and a way lighter car. Zr1 is more powerful.
