The difference in weight makes up for the HP difference. The McLaren is smoother through the air which matters when speeds climb over 100MPH. I bet that 570 is underrated, just like the 765LT.

I just rewatched that last race and actually the gt500 let off and then it looked like they were staying even which means the 570 let off too at the same time so it created an illusion that the gt500 was staying with it. It was just a coincidence of both of them letting off because if you listen to the audio, the entire time the gt500 motor is screaming the 570 was still pulling regardless of windows down. No hate against the gt500 nice car also. Mclaren is just super light and aerodynamic.

American supercharged engines are highly overrated. Where the european turbo charged engines are underrated. That McLaren has around 550whp + a low drag coefficient and is much lighter where the Stang puts down around only 620 whp. So the whp difference between the two cars isn't as big as the advertised manufacturer's numbers would suggest.

Hey thanks for watching! Well sports cars all have a different feel. It is really nice to be in them. Some are better then others. Now for example... the McLaren 570S is not something most would like to drive around in all day everyday. Not the most comfortable and doesn't have what other cars have because this was designed to be a race car on the street. Now the gt500 is much more livable and enjoyable to be in as a daily driver! Every car is different

Perhaps you didn’t notice, but racer boy in the 570 is running a near zero rear spoiler. He’s not “slipstreaming” the Mustang, he’s made his car as slippery as possible. Serious roll racers do everything they can to take away unnecessary downforce for straight line racing.

Weight.... its all about weight reduction and aero. Shelby was a proven track car, still fast in a straight but even with the torque. the McLaren weighs less.(about 2900lbs dry McLaren, compared to the Shelby at 4200 lbs.) so off the top you got a 1k weight advantage for the McLaren and the Torque on a roll race is not enough.

I’m a mopar fanboy but here’s my take on the 2020 GT500 and will ultimately show my thoughts on this race. Ford......; 4225lbs???, you practically turned the Mustang into a damn Shire. You should just call the GT500 the Shelby *Super* “ate a man and can’t move” *Snake* and pay homage to thick-thighs Challenger and Charger. Man they seriously could’ve done better with the weight, I’d admire all sorts of cars(regardless of brands or origin) but I just can’t believe they pulled a “Dodge” with the 2020 GT500 and gave it high cholesterol. This car should’ve been nimble and super-car fast, for how far their engineering has come, I’m certain a greater car could have been composed. The zl1 is definitely on the right track with it’s weight and performance. The Hellcat just stays fat, but the GT500 could’ve have marveled many times more than it previously was and still as we speak-had they just maybe thought their gameplan out a little better.

Its excellent weight and higher rev limit just seal the deal for me on which was more perfected in terms of track use. Nonetheless the GT500 is an excellent car and I’d give anything to ride in one.
