There’s a current recall for the ECU tuning that just came out. From what I hear, it helps the sensitive throttle response. We have an Ascent. The wife loves it. I think it’s a great car for us. My biggest complaint is actually the steering wheel, for whatever reason it’s not exactly centered with the driver seat. Say in others at the dealer and they are the same way.

The minute this video started, you could hear the "Typical" Subaru metallic sound when you park after a long drive. Very Nostalgic if you ask me..

At 1:38, the forward facing camera on the top of the screen went away in a second. I like it when it stays on for 35 seconds and then goes away. The Chevy Blazer has that feature. All Subarus and all Cars, Trucks, and SUVs should always have that feature

So you’d suggest the Highlander instead? Highlander is a little smaller though in the back, I think? At least Toyota offers a Hybrid...
@TNAN0072 жыл бұрын
Highlander Hybrid AWD run for $56k+ before tax and dmv fees, where I live. About $16k more than the Ascent. Not sure if that $16k is worth the gas saving. Highlander 3rd row is for kid under 5"4, if you're taller your head will hit the ceiling.
@slandshark2 жыл бұрын
@@TNAN007 Regarding the 3rd row, I just sat in a 2022 Ascent 2 weeks ago for a test drive. I was completely surprised by how much space there was back there. Almost every review says the Ascent 3rd row is for kids.... I'm 5'8", I set the driver seat for me, then the 2nd row I set almost all the way forward and still had a few inches of knee room, then sat in the 3rd row seat behind that and I had like at least 5" of knee room. The space in the 3rd row is WAY undersold, especially in reviews. I've also sat in a late 2000's (I think 2018?) Highlander and the 3rd row is literally for kids...and the 2022 highlander (on paper) has I believe 3 or less inches of 3rd row leg room compared to the Ascent.
@TNAN0072 жыл бұрын
@@slandshark Yeah that's why I bought the 2020 Ascent. I traded in my Honda Odyssey (which I love so much more than a Sienna) But I need AWD and 3 row since I moved to snowy region. - Pilot has more head room but shallower knee room, meaning your knee is up to your chest when sitting in 3rd row. - Highlander has always been tiny compare to other competitor and with their hybrid price is now 20k over msrp. I won't even bother with it. - Atlas, Palisade and Telluride. Nice effort but I don't trust VW and Korean cars after witnessing so many of my friends having to take them to mechanic almost every month after 100k. And my mechanic friend strongly advised me against them. BTW if you're getting an Ascent, make sure you do regular maintenance on it and be sure to change your CVT fluid every 60k or less. Subaru is reliable but less forgiving than a Toyota if you neglect it.
@slandshark2 жыл бұрын
@@TNAN007 Yeah, we have 3 kids right now and we own a minivan (Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid) and I've been a little apprehensive about going from the van with tons of space to a SUV with less space. But after sitting in the Ascent myself my worries are gone, at least in regards to the passenger space. Cargo room is lacking compared to a minivan, but that's expected. We are trading in our Pacifica for an Ascent later this year, my Wife really wants the Ascent. We can benefit from the AWD as well (and ground clearance), we live in the PNW and usually park the van permanently during snow. We hope to get a 2023 Ascent with 8 seats, just eagerly waiting for Subaru to announce the 2023 models. :)

Subaru needs to stop with the mini display on top of the center console. Its pretty useless and always has been. One big display is fine, or even better the Mercedes style of integrating the driver's and center console area into one ultra-wide display is also pretty neat.
@BoopSnoot4 жыл бұрын
Also, when you're using a CVT, do you really need that big of a tachometer? I'd make the tach an afterthought IMO, and just give the driver a big digital screen instead to put more useful info.
