2020 Suzuki DR650 sidecar build / SEAT CONCEPTS low comfort SEAT foam and kit BUILD

Welcome to my dream of building a sidecar. I have chosen the Suzuki DR650 as my bike of choice, because of its reliability and simplicity. It needs to be beefed up to handle a car, so come on along for the build, one mod at a time.
In this video, watch a Seat Concepts low comfort foam and cover kit build. With a pneumatic staple gun, air compressor, and Arrow stainless steel 1/4" 6mm staples. Voila, comfortable bootie.

Just ordered the Commuter for my 2016 I got earlier this year. Is that the gripper top and vinyl side option? Did you forget the plastic sheet on top of foam?

Hey Possum, good for you for getting the Commuter. Yes, it's the grip top and vinyl side. The plastic sheet is only if you are using the heated seat insert. It protects the wiring from weather.

@@NicoleEspinosa Great video, I just received my foam and cover this week. As for the plastic sheet, it says on their website that the vinyl is waterproof, but the seams are not. That's the reason for the plastic, so the water doesn't seep through the seams and into the foam.

I just put on my Sergeant Seat and found out that I need to mod the Acerbis tank bracket. Lol. Seat is SUPER COMFY though!

Right on. I appreciate your videos btw, I’m building my very first DR650 I bought new 2 months ago and doing a lot of the same mods as we speak. Literally just finished installing the lowered foot pegs tonight. Did the DR200 taillight and tidy tail kit. Next bars, risers, grips and mirrors then on to the acerbis tank. Casey, let me finish the Yoshi flashers install before I recommend them. When the wattage decreases with LEDs, you have to get an additional diode kit that regulates the cycling of the flashers. I haven't added the diode yet, and the flashers all flash at the same time like emergency lights. This is a typical problem.

Kevin, I’m 5’6”, 31” inseam. Haven’t climbed on the bike yet, as I still have it apart working on electricals. Wish me luck.

@@NicoleEspinosa I am 5'9" ish... I didn't find the Dr too bad. Got a bunch of sag.... and if it has a low seat I think you can manage toes at least

@@NicoleEspinosa I would have no problems lowering that suspension an inch. It's got over 10" of travel and ground clearance.. 9 plus inches is very good too

@@NicoleEspinosa guy I was watching in Australia has a friend with him on a long adventure ride in the bush.. Dr650 and a Yamaha TT600 with a sidecar. That thing did great off road.

So Dean, I have been working non-stop on the build without enough time in between the mods to really test the seat out with long day rides. But, will keep you posted. Most my moto friends use Seat Concepts, and they swear by them.
