Notice the stoke on Pancho's face when he talks about the 150 fork... totally agree.

About time trek made the reach on their bikes longer , I used to be a fan , and the last few years went off them because I found them too short in the cockpit

They are worth another look. The new Fuel and even newer Slash are VERY good bikes

@@summitbicycles yep I’m looking at the fuel , I like to have an enduro bike and a trail bike , the one bike to do it all doesn’t quite work for me , I like that variation of the two options . Have a 2020 nukeproof mega , looking to upgrade my trail bike , the new canyon spectral looks interesting though .

Is the leverage ratio on this bike considered to be linear or progressive? Trying to figure out what coil spring to run on my 2020.

So how do you upgrade your rear suspension ? Do you need to buy the suspension from trek in order to get the full benefits ??
@summitbicycles2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. You can swap out the stock shock as long as you keep the same eye to eye and stroke measurements. It does not have to come from Trek.

Have this bike on my radar... how’s the quality of the bb? I know it’s still press fit. Will it freak like crazy after a while?
@parsnips8005 жыл бұрын
I have a 2019 Fuel EX8 and it is an awesome bike. The BB did start to creak after a lot of punishment through a UK winter (lots of mud, puddles and general grime) I replaced it with a Hope 'threaded Pressfit' . Not ideal after a few months of riding, especially as the Hope BB isn't cheap and requires a specific Hope press fit tool (also not cheap) However, no problems since. Completely silent. In my opinion Press Fit are just a complete pain. They have no place on mtb's. Glad to see manufacturers moving away from them. I nearly didn't buy the Trek because of the Pressfit, but honestly the Fuel ex felt so sorted when I rode it and I would thoroughly recommend it.
@WildOutdoorLiving5 жыл бұрын
Honestly Ive seen more threaded bbs creak recently than pressfit ones. None of my pressfit Treks have ever creaked and when most customers tell me their pressfit bb is creaking it ends up being something else. All bottom brackets need replaced and serviced over time but I wouldnt see it as a particular concern.

@jaysealenduro56185 жыл бұрын
That's your own opinion and its boring for you because its so simple but for me trek's FS MTB design is the best because its just simple and simple is the best no gimmicks and some weird design
@jmanswat24575 жыл бұрын
The value increases but yes performance definitely stagnates. By itself Trek Mt bikes ride good, but hop on anything else "gimmiky" and the difference is clear.

I totally agree Steven. I ordered a Niner Jet 9 and demoed the 2019 Fuel ex8 while I was waiting for the niner. Ended up canceling my order and buying the Fuel. It simply just rides amazing!
