Because the camera guys work there ass off. Its not a team of camera guys like in PDGA shows. One guy has to carry all the camera gear, batteries, microphone, plus there own food and water. They have to move from player to player for each throw. The players don't wait for the camera guys and the camera guys can't be moving when players are throwing.

@@alexnackley3865 ive watched all the coverage of past usdgcs by jomez and spintv, which also contained missed catch cams and other logistical errors. I like the idea of being on a high horse while others are demanding absolutely perfect free coverage. Just trying to be nice and give them positive feedback so they dont just feel like throwing in the towel even more for the last 2 rounds of editing.

@@lsapg09 specifically I can cite Paul mcbeths tee shot on hole one from both years. 2018 he does the same shot as here but instead of zooming in on his head and then watching him walk off the tee pad they cut to the catch cam and we see the disc is edge of circle one. We have no idea where the disc went in 2020. Also the camera on the green in 2020 never moves, it's shot from a static point of view. Which results is shots in that the putter and the basket take up a very small amount of total space on the screen. When you look at how they framed the putting shots in 2018 the disc golfer putting and the basket take up at least 1/3 of the total screen space. When I say drop in quality I'm talking about consistent choices in framing shots that were made incorrectly.

Ian is a great guy, but this coverage has been disappointing. Tons of missed shots. Poor editing. It's two weeks after the event and videos are getting posted late at night. Philo yelling "no thank you" to somebody in the background. This is the USDGC. Coverage should definitely be held to a higher standard.
