oh my goodness I want to go on this tour and stay in the inn!! my heart belongs to PEI!! it is my dream to call this beautiful place home one day. I went with my family in 1997 and they planned a whole Anne themed day for me and it was one of the happiest days of my life and I have longed to return ever since. and this tour looks beyond amazing!!! so much scope for the imagination here!!!

I live on PEI and am heartsick of the damage that hurricane Fiona wrought. We drove along the north shore and through Cavendish, Rustico etc last fall. I look forward to spring to go venturing again and see what is left of these beautiful spots. Lovely video, they have moved the School Lucy Maude taught at into the town of Bedeque, it is across the street from the original Callbecks store, which is now a museum. It's only minutes from Kensington and Summerside. I hope you all have an opportunity to visit our home. I lived in Alberta for a decade and once I came back I feel so fortunate to live on our beautiful Island.

Oh how terrible the wreck left behind after hurricane's and Tornadoes, we've had two in the last few weeks, we have only ever had one, 12 years ago, in the 40yrs I've lived in Bunbury Western Australia, so I can imagine the heart-wrenching damage. Reading LM Montgomery's books makes me homesick for her life on PEI. I do hope that one day I can come and spend a couple of weeks, roaming the island. I wish it wasn't so far away. You are indeed fortunate to live in such a beautiful spot with such a rich history of this famous author.

What a stunningly beautiful place! I’m too old and infirm now to travel, if not not for that, I would definitely go and visit. I read the books when I was eleven years old and am about to pass them on to my granddaughter Emily who is also eleven. I hope they will send her to the magical places in my mind where I once happily wandered.

This was wonderfully nostalgic for me, having recently returned from Maritime Canada, including PEI. The visit to PEI was a life's dream fulfilled. Everyone for whom Anne of Green Gables has been an important book just has to go and be immersed in the beauty and atmosphere. Like another viewer, I now need to go again, but, if you go, you'll have to close your eyes when you encounter the tat which Bernadeta warns about in the video

Thank you so much for making this video. I went to PEI back in 2018 and I loved it so much. I learned a few things while watching your video. Like for example, I didn't know that Maud's cousin Frederica was buried on PEI. I was also glad to see that the Montgomery homestead was turned into an inn. Thank you again for this video. As soon as it's safe to travel again and the virus is gone I will go back to PEI.

I’m overwhelmed. Am currently on PEI and only mildly interested in LM Montgomery and Anne of Green Gables. If you were to tour one of these places which would you do and why?

You should at least see Green Gables Heritage Place. Once you are there you could take an extra hour to visit LMM's Cavendish Homestead, the park with her statue and the shoreline. Avonlea was inspired by Cavendish, so you will be able to see the real places that inspired L.M. Montgomery

I'd really love to know how a guy like Gilbert Blythe would have come into her life as he was made out to be a surgeon and she married a minister just sounds like he was made up for the books but really would liked to have known if he was real. Same with Diana Barry was she a real friend or just made up for the books. I would have hated to have grown up like she did parentless even though her father was still alive but she never really knew that. It sorta makes me feel that I too love to read and write after becoming extremely ill with Epilepsy at 12 I never knew the life of a teenaged girl maybe I could do something similar while I'm young. 📚

Gilbert, Anne and the rest are all made-up characters. I see why you would get confused - after all there is Avonlea village to see, Green Gables etc and the narrator was talking about Anne and Mathew and Marilla as if they really lived there which they didn't. No idea what the Green Gable house shown in this video is. She was describing that it was enlarged little by little over the years, starting in 1831 etc etc I don't know if that was a house used for the movie or L.M. lived there at some point. Just confusing. L.M. knew her father was alive, but he lived far away with a new, young wife. L.M. went to visit him once but the new ife treated her like a free servant and nanny so L.M. went back to live with her grandparents. She was financially successful with her wonderful books, but privately she struggled in her marriage, she was extremely busy as a mother and wife to a minister, and a prolific writer, and her husband was often very depressed and mentally not well. She regretted marrying him soon after the ceremony. She gave birth to three boys (not at once, 3 separate pregnancies), one of them a stillborn child, she was so heartbroken and depressed after that. She didn't have an easy life.
