We are the original owner of a 2016 XC90 that now has 50,000 miles on it. Overall, we are happy with it. Has lots of power but gets 26+ MPG on the highway. Here are some of our issues with it: Children’s car seats (at least ours) don’t fit in second row seats because head restraints push child seat forward. Touch screen is finicky: you have to touch it just right for it to register the touch. Bad because this takes driver’s eyes off the road as he tries multiple times. On our other cars, when you flip the sun visor over to cover the side window you can slide it backwards to cover more of the window ... not so on the Volvo. Minor point: the door handles are chrome plated plastic, not aluminum as stated in the video. The chrome plating came off ours. They were replaced under warranty but would be expensive to replace off warranty because of the labor. The fuel filler door has an automatic closure instead of the usual removable cap you unscrew. Became a problem when I tried to fill the tank from a gas can. Gas cans now have an interlock that prevents gas from flowing unless an unlocking tab is caught on the edge of the filler pipe. The Volvo has no such edge (it’s round) and so I was unable to fill from the gas can. We got the air suspension which gives a much nicer ride than the standard springs. One feature we really like is that the mirrors fold in when you lock the car. This makes it really easy to tell at a distance whether the car is locked.

One more thing. In cold weather the steering wheel gets icy cold and stays icy cold for a long time. Was never a problem in any other car we owned. You’d think they would have noticed this in Sweden and insulated it better.

No armrest in the second row captain's chairs?

The things Volvo's are missing.. I believe they do on purpose, to save costs, and keep their price and value proposition optimum. They're very smart with the things they withhold, things that aren't too important. But it's not just them scamming you, the value they put into durability, and quality of the frame, body, suspension, etc, are things you don't directly see, but well worthwhile, instead of every electronic gadget. I think Volvo puts the features where they matter, and the quality where it matters. Very smart, and offers the customer the best value/compromise, which I love about Volvo.

@Disclosureteam Liverpool Yes, noble traits for a company.

It's still very elegant. I look forward to the 2022 all-new xc90. But this car started Volvo's new design direction and it has been tweaked nicely. It does need power steering wheel adjustments.

Not giving a practical way to unfold the back seats is just inexcusable. Such a shame because the rest of it seems well thought out.

So basically a new grill and front end changes as a mid cycle refresh
@benjaminsmith22874 жыл бұрын
It's a little past mid cycle. A all-new one is coming out in 2022.

Might trade in my wife’s 2016 Inscription solely for the 6 seat option on the 2020.

I wonder if they fixed the lagging in the infotainment.

I've tested a lot of Volvos, never seen it lag. Are you having problems with yours?

You probably got that 2015

GoS Reverse...I have a 2017 S90 T6 Inscription, Id never get another one. Winter time use, shit turns on slowly, brutal summer use, turns on slowly. Real world usage, the Volvo’s are adequate, but for the money, there are better functioning cars. The infotainment is honestly not that great. It looks cool, but it’s not better than any of the German cars, not better than Genesis...better than Lexus, Acura and Infiniti by far.

Drivers Only I respect your opinion on it, but your glowing review of this vehicle definitely doesn’t match up to my experience with my S90.

There’s a faster processor so startup is super fast and lag is resolved compared with previous years.

Build the second row seats with NO ARMREST is really a silly move. I mean its really a common sense.

I dont want electronic motors to lift the seat. More stuff to break
@steveprinty56744 жыл бұрын
operator911 Also, if someone is going to sit in those seats, they can simply raise them by hand after they open the door. Simple is better. 👍🏻 And he listed as bad that it doesn’t have a power adjusted steering column.🤦🏻♂️ The ones I’ve seen are too damn slow. And what happens if they quit working and get stuck in the lowest position? 🤷🏻♂️

Indicators should be yellow or amber, red is bloody bad. How many mpg(imperial)? from 0-60 mph how fast? has XC90 equipped with TPMS(tyre pressure monitoring system)? what colour about this car? grey? heated windscreen?standard? oh are you Japanese? Hi thanks for answering.
@DriversOnly5 жыл бұрын
Thunder gray is the color. Yes it does come with TPMS. 0-60 in about 6.5 secs.

Johnny Lee Johnny Lee we has XC90 2019 restyling the european version has yellow indicators, yes have TPMS, we always go to mountain and we have the front heated windscreen, work well but you sometime notice the coil, it is a optional in winter pack

How can I take you seriously that "The XC90 is the best suv on the market" when right after that we see Volvo sponsored the video. Zero credibility and BS. I own own an older P2 S80 and a XC 90 2021 (wifes car)...... and I can, with confidence tell you you the newer Volvo's are not built as well and are plagued with electrical issues... and terribly over priced. I have a friend who owns a Corvette and Euro car repair facility, who is a former Volvo Master Tech mechanic. His advise on the matter (which I followed) was if you're going to buy Volvo get own made in Sweden... not one from S.C and not one from China. Do your own research people. The XC 90 has been in the shop 7 times 3 of which Volvo did not have any loaners, and they had the car for a total of 4 months .... adding up all 7 times.

What the hell no arm rest on second row captain chairs? That's stupid,can you imagine going for a long drive and no arm rest to rest arm.in that case you have to make a sling to rest your other arm.STUPID
