2020 Yamaha MT-09 SP/ FZ-09 AKRAPOVIC CARBON EXHAUST SOUND + FLYBY

I’m showing you what my YAMAHA MT-09 SP sounds like with a Akrapovic carbon full exhaust system with the DB killer in and out.
Also I’ll be showing you what the standard exhaust sounded like too. It was filmed on my GoPro hero 8 with a media mod and a Drift microphone. Hope you enjoy

The most surprising thing is, how damn good it sounds WITH the DB-Killer in. Is this Akrapovic Exhaust street legal, when using the DB-Killer?

@@mrtemps7373 Hey boss perhaps you can tell me how to remove the baffle ? I heard its easy. Just how to remove one bolt on the side and just take the baffle out with pliers. Right ?

Hey. Yes there’s a screw on the wheel side off the end can under the rubber plug. It can be fiddly as you can easily drop the screw if you’re not using something magnetic. When you’ve taken the screw out the baffle will pull out with some pliers. If you want to put the baffle back in I find it easier to take the end can off. Hope that helps

Does the dB killer make a big difference? I have the same exhaust on my Mt, I don't have a dB killer because I bought the bike second hand. Im think about buying one as my ears ring like mad after a decent ride, even with ear plugs in!

It does make a difference. I was the same when I took the DB killer out then after a few days I put it back in because the loudness did my head in.

I took it off my MT-07 and I felt like it lost compression and therefore lost a small amount of power. I have the full system on order for my MT09-SP and I'll be leaving it in this time.

What does the MT-09 rev out to? R7 revs out to 10K but the shift point is 9

Yes if you want to get the full performance out of it . I’ll be getting mine done when I get round to it

I'm sorry but I prefer the sound pf the stock exhaust : more natural and melodious. The akrapovic carbon makes just more noise and it's not important to me. I prefer the stock one, definitly.

@@MT-09_SP that's just a question of taste 😂 I have very musical ears and spend a lot of time in professional recording studios. And to my ears the sound of the stock one is better, less noise but more musical.

@@MT-09_SP and with the stock exhaust you can hear engine sound and air box. With the race exhaust you just hear....the exhaust.
