I think the dress is very nice. Even the back, though simple is a nice A-line shape. I like how you use vintage sheets and shower curtains to make clothing. Good way to make use of some nice fabrics that could otherwise be discarded.

Hi Andra - Love the dress. It is really a cute style. The seams down the front and back are just style lines. And the dress looked great without them. You are such a clever lady to use the edge of the table cloth as the hem. Added a lovely touch. I really liked seeing all the past upcycle pieces you have made. I laughed when I saw your comment about your hair because I was thinking of saying I liked seeing all the different hair styles over time right before that appeared on the screen.😄 Always fun to see what you have been sewing. I have not done any garment sewing since August. Although I have been working on my cross stitch. I am a big cross stitcher. I am making little ornaments for all the neighbors in our court which will be attached to boxes of cookies for Christmas. A lot of new young families in our court now. I have finished the stitching and now just need to make them into ornaments. So that will be sewing. I have also been working on the finishing of several other pieces that I have stitched. I do the finishing myself which includes lacing the piece onto a board or making them into little pillows. So that is also sewing 😉 Once all that is complete I can focus on my sewing again. That is a lovely Autumnal colour on you Andra. What a great upcycle and I was pleased to see that pattern made up as I have that and not made it yet. It does have my favourite type belt but I would probably tie it up tighter or maybe add fish eye darts in the back. 2 challenges in one project, amazing! ❤xx

Just beautiful! I love that color, it flatters you. I use sheets and tablecloths, duvet covers, old quilts, or whatever else that I can find. It’s getting harder to find quality fabric at the thrift store near me, because more people are getting into up cycling.

I have sloping shoulders and I’m only 5’1. Dolman sleeves look terrible on me. The dress is cute! I’ve never tried sewing something out of a tablecloth or sheet. How do you know where to place the pattern pieces because of the grain?
