Sorry but what does this do? What is it supposed to do? I have this auto but don't know anything Abt it. My car is 1yr & 5 months old and we have reached 22,000 miles already and have only changed oil twice. I keep saying that we should be keeping up with the services that might be needed to keep it in good running condition but he says it's a new car so I shouldn't worry. So I'm on here trying to look up if it should be serviced...any way can you help me here Abt the reset oil button? Thank you so much.

Every time you change the oil you should reset the oil life. Oil life pretty much just reminds you when you need to change your oil. If you don’t reset it after every oil change it won’t be accurate.

You should follow whatever the car is telling you to do. This video is for people who change their oil themselves - so they know how to reset the oil life indicator. If you're having your car serviced, they are likely resetting it for you and you don't need to worry about it (and shouldn't mess with/reset it). The video could have been about 3 seconds long and just said "hold the button" :). The whole "press the button twice, hang out, oh yeah oops - start the car" bit should have been cut :) lol Either way, I forgot after 10 oil changes how to reset it, so it was useful nonetheless :)
