In a recent test from one of the car mags, Porsche also had the most consistent / tightest panel tolerances. Extremely good quality control over their production. Turbo s and stock gt500 get almost identical times on the track, at least in motor trends timed laps in seca. I don't know know how more power would effect the performance on that track, as gt500 probably does not need more power than it has, but it might edge out the win if they also made some changes on the chassis as well.

Actually it's a surprise. The Turbo S launches great pretty much everywhere. The stock GT500 has trouble to launch great outside a prepped drag strip, the 1000hp even more. Outside the prepared drag track the Mustang would struggle to get grip no matter what.

Porsche is rear engine configuration which makes a huge difference. Rear engine cars have superior acceleration off the line to front engine cars. AWD and rear engine configuration is a perfect combination for a amazing brutal accelerating car. Engjne placement matters alot in acceleration and handling most importantly.

Both are good cars in their own respect. But kind of apples and oranges. Are we comparing HP or price? Value for the dollar- Ford + Hennessey did a great job. From a dig, the stock 911 beats the 1000 hp GT500. On the roll, they're within a few cars. Get the 911 up to 1000 hp and do another roll race.

Would be great to see a more varied test. Ie brake test, circuit lap test & a straight line test from launch. My guess is the Hennessy will be 2nd in all of them. Also porsche s can be at 700hp with a simple flash tune.

That makes 0 sense. On a street, the cars have a better chance of losing grip and going off the road. Roll races let the cars put the power down so theres less chance for spinning.
