Hey Everyone,
In today's video, we're going to try to retofit the G80/G82 M3/M4 OEM Carbon Bucket Seats in my 2016 BMW F80 M3. As many of you know, the new 2021+ BMW M3 and M4 have an option where you can incredible OEM carbon racing seats, which look and perform AMAZING. While scrolling online, I saw that Go Fast Tuner Parts had a crashed M4 Comp in with them and I couldn't say no! New from the dealer, these seats are about $35,000, so I really hope they fit!

Hey! Once we have an update on working out the kinks, we'll leave an update here. As for the cost, the $35k you have to remember is MSRP as a retail customer. If you went to BMW to buy something like this, they jack up the cost and make you buy all of the components separately. With these seats specifically, dealers don't even have the ability to submit the order since the car is so new and parts are so scarce. I didn't pay anywhere near that much for them, since they were out of a crashed car, but they certainly weren't cheap 😅😅😅

Sick mod! Recommendation for the seat going forward and backward…. Look at the pins inside the connection and swap them… that should do the trick… When I had my BMW n54 they came with the paddles that push to downshift and pull the upshift…. I swapped the pins in the connection to only allow the left side to downshift and right side to upshift. I think the same concept should apply! Give it a shot if needed. Questions let me know!

Sick mod! Due to the fact they come from M4 and are foldable, the rear-right passenger can move the seat in front all the way forward and fold - this should give him a real luxury place with lots of room! 👍

At the time the seats was revealed I was thinking "could i do a swap for my f32" 😅 they look so amazing! And for your seat belt situation: as far as i know the belt is mounted on a rail on the m4 so it can slide away for people to get into the rear but if you would have m3 seats there is a mount for your belt on the seat as like your m3 seats had. I did something similar with my E92 M3. I fitted M4 Comp seats to it. Was a bit of a nightmare with the wiring but the end result is amazing.

Why so hard to connect m4 Comp seats? They have same connector as long as your e92 m3 is 2011-2013. Should bolt and connect right up.

With regards to the bottom seatbelt mounting point, that is because your new seats are from a Coupe, so naturally the bottom front seatbelt mounting point is on the bottom of the B pillar. I encountered the same thing when I swapped AMG performance seats into my Mercedes C450 Sedan. I had to track down seats that had come out of Sedan.

Hey man, just transfer the seatbelt module from your F80 seats - also if you had used a G80 seat (not a G82) you would have had the seat belt mount on the seat - the G82 uses a rail like the F82 - great vid though - thanks!

Love the seats, I've got two pole position Recaros to go in my m4 but having a hell of a time getting the original bracket bolts out, what power impact driver did you use? Maybe my 18v standard isn't cutting it.

I got the same result when I changed my F48 X1 to sport seat--- press forward and the seat more backward. The dealer of my place didn't know how to fix that. It became normal when I took my car to a Hifi install store and he changed the pole of the connector. However, I suspect that the connector of the safety belt was not work rather than a coding problem. I suggest to check the connection when the belt is clipped on.

Try using the driver profiles feature for seat memory. So instead of it being on the seat or on the door it will be in the I drive system. Also you can have it so when you start your car driver profiles comes up and you can select who is driving.

Maybe you can put washers to the mounting points to level the height with the seatbelt mounted at the bottom. But the torque spec probably will need to be different though. Probably not the end of the world but it is a safety component after all.

I bought a pair of Cobra Nogaros for my Z4M Coupe. There is a special bracket and wiring you can do to get back and forth movement. They're certainly not as nice as these seats but they're about a tenth of the price!

I made the same mod on my 335i, I put the entire M3 e92 interior and the problem was like here... I mean, everything was working, but in opposite way and to fix this I had to replace all the motors of the seats with my original ones(from the seats).After this, all the electrical commands was 100% functional.I guess is the same situation here.

I’ve had the worst luck with tampering with bmw seats. I removed the seats in my f25 to paint them as part of a project. I dyed them red when they were originally brown, everything was going good I was so happy to put the seats back, after bolting the seats back down and plugging the connector I was immediately hit with passenger and driver restraint malfunction, I’ve tried re installing them, I’ve tried coding them through bimmer code, I’ve used top of the line snap on and MatcoTools scanners to try and get rid of it but that light won’t turn off. And the code that pops up when scanning is “seat not coded for vehicle” I am just lost and don’t know what to do now.
