Agreed. The M3 has the widebody which makes that grille not look so abnormally shaped. Last gen I was all about the M4. This gen it's like they tried to just make it a meme and blow it up on the internet. The front is a meme and the launch color just further pushes the ugliness. How did this get through?" Maybe some low level peon tried to say something and was reprimanded. If you took everything about this car and just threw on a normal front end this would be *chef's kiss* perfecto, but man did this fall short in the appearance category.

@@markc9949 I dunno who's running the show at BMW, but it's quite shocking. Not only this but that 2 series gran coupe which couldn't be less driver focused for an "ultimate driving machine". Somethings changed at the top and changed quite drastically. Was planning to trade my m240i in for an M4 within the next 2-3 years, but unless the next generation M2 really blows me away, the AMG route might just be the way to go instead. Or of course getting an F80 and modding the shit out of it might not be bad, either.

When I saw online I was mortified, I couldn't believe BMW would do this. When I saw an M4 on the freeway I was pleasantly surprised. The grills match up really good with the hood and when you look at the car as a whole its a lot better looking than the outgoing model. The outgoing one will look dated very quickly.

Guys, for the same price and power I'd take the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrofoglio, despite all the reliability issues it has. To me the Alfa looks better, handles better or as good, and it's Italian. I just can't get past the M4 grille.
