You know the grille surface area on a M3 is less than both the AMG and the Audi grilles, right? Everyone complaining about it sound ridiculous, just open your eyes and look at the other competitors. Better yet, wait to hold judgement until you see them in person; the M3 grille is smaller than you think. Come up with your own opinions for once and hop off the bandwagon.

Hi guys, the reason for this new model being quieter than the "normal" M5 competition is because of the new OPF, which has become mandatory for new models released this year. While the main purpose is filtering the exhaust particles, the side effect is that it makes the car very silent. Same reason why GR Yaris is so quiet (not because being 3-cyl like most people think) and even a supercar like the Ferrari F8 Tributo sounds like shit compared with the previous Ferrari model it replaces, which had basically the same engine. Btw, removing the OPF is a MOT failure and in Europe it is even a felony.
@imkirbo30943 жыл бұрын
Felony is an American thing, that word doesn't mean anything elsewhere.
@Gryphus-R3 жыл бұрын
@@imkirbo3094 it does. In spain for example felony can be translated as "delito penal" while other misdemeanors might have a fine, but no penal implications. For example: In Spain speeding at 130km/h in a 120km/h limit zone is a misdemeanor which involves a fine. Speeding at 270km/h while drunk is a felony, and you could even go to jail. The new regulatory changes here will make you go to court if you are caught with a de-cat, de-opf, radar scanner, lidar scanner...

CS models nail the suspension. They're what all M models used to offer. Wish BMW didn't water down the M brand.
@turboshottho3 жыл бұрын
I see why they watered it down.. rich ppl who don’t know shit about cars were buying M3,4,5 just because it’s top trim and they wanna flex. Those same people probably wouldn’t get a Competition Series so BMW gives special treatment to the special cars that will most likely be purchased by real enthusiasts
@The_Stanman3 жыл бұрын
@@turboshottho I think it's the opposite. Rich people are gonna buy the expensive limited production model at MSRP. Enthusiasts are gonna buy the best car they can for the money, which is usually not a 25 unit production run at 40% markup.
@The_Stanman3 жыл бұрын
@@turboshottho watering down a brand might make money in the short-term, but is a losing strategy long-term.
@turboshottho3 жыл бұрын
@@The_Stanman rich people and enthusiasts intersect so some of them will be getting the most balls to the wall version to actually drive it at HPDE, but of course that not all enthusiast. Living in miami I see it every day, every C63, M3,M4,M5, AMG GT is driven by a grandma or grandpa, or an influencer type who who couldn’t even tell you why rwd/awd is good, or what a turbo is. The majority of their owners are not into HPDE. Yes some enthusiasts will just buy a used bare bones model to modify, others just wanna put the money down up front and get the most track oriented version the factory puts out without having to modify it afterwards.
@The_Stanman3 жыл бұрын
@@turboshottho I'm not even talking about HPDE or performance figures. I'm talking about driver connection, ride-handling balance, steering feel, etc. M used to offer that, now only CS models do and it's mostly due to tuning not hardware. It's why I moved from M cars to Porsche.

I currently own a distant cousin to the M5. Mine is the 535i with X Drive and the M Sport package. Great car to drive, and I'm looking forward to purchasing e real M5. I'm really hoping BMW has solved the oil burning problem with the twin-turbo V8's, due to the heat from the turbochargers drying up the valve stem seals. Once the seals are done, it's about a $12K job to change a handful of plastic valve seals, and that can occur under 100,000 kms.
